Stream

Sounds like ATT's argument is that they've sold their customers bandwidth they can't actually deliver and it's Netflix's fault. If not for the extra bandwidth used by Netflix streams their infrastructure would be sufficient therefore Netflix customers should pay to improve it. That's fine but you sold me sufficient bandwidth to handle a high quality video stream and then want to claim that stream is burdening your network so I can't have it unless I pay more. Doesn't add up to me.

Engadget: AT&T thinks increased bandwidth costs are Netflix subscribers' problem. http://google.com/newsstand/s/CBIwvJWZlho

That may be true for cable. I believe FiOS is guaranteed our at least it's implied. When your advertising states that the bandwidth isn't shared like cable they are making an implication.

#LIRR "Ladies and gentleman because of equipment trouble the 9:39 to Penn Station is being held." 5 minutes later..."Ladies and gentleman because of a police investigation the 9:39 is 12 minutes late." Good to see the cops are on top of the equipment trouble. I wish the LIRR would go on strike already. I've never seen a more dysfunctional organization in my life. Maybe if they strike we can fire every last one of them and get a new company to run the trains. It would probably cost half as much too.

On the subway everything is just "train traffic ahead"

I'd like to know how much the #LIRR loses on schmucks that use off peak tickets and claim to have no cash for the step up fare. I bet none of them mail in payment after the fact. Would it be that hard to equip conductors with cellphones and +Square so they can accept credit card payments?

"I don't have any cash". Ok, lemme see your ID. "I don't have any ID."

Who wants to bet that come the next election the political landscape stays exactly the same? "saying if they had the chance to vote to defeat and replace every single member of Congress, including their own representative, they would"

So basically the Republicans are whining like little bitches that the federal government exchange is a disaster but the feds wouldn't need an exchange if the red states had done their duty like the blue states.

Once again the #TSA proves it's the most inept government agency. I wonder if the people who will argue that "they're keeping us safe" have ever visited an airport. The thousand people standing in line waiting at JFK T5 are sitting ducks. The glass barriers they use for rope lines prevent an orderly escape #firehazard. And then your personal belongings are forced to be unattended on the xray belt while 10 people stand around waiting to go through the nude scanner for their free cancer dose. Has a single terrorist ever been caught by these machines that take 45 seconds or more per person? #isitworthit Republicans scream about the budget and vote down funding for veterans but happily pay morons to stand at the metal detector (dozens per checkpoint) just to inform people that they can't go through them. Two more are required for the rapiscan. Consider this a formal complaint.

You have to respect +NBC. They could put non primetime worthy Olympic courage on but instead we get a show called "Open House". They really just don't give a damn. One of the other NBCs has the men's 5000m gold medal final. I guess the rest of that event was unimportant.

The #LIRR is either the most dysfunctional organization on earth or just fucking lying assholes. Their website says a third rail problem in the east river tunnel is to blame for canceled trains. The conductor announces a smoke condition is to blame. The news reports an issue between Jamaica and Penn Station. So which is it?

+David Plass +John Sarapata this is a great example. This email was sent at 8:56 AM. It takes more than 3 minutes to get from Hicksville to Ronkonkoma. So basically the message is completely useless. " The 7:39AM train from Penn due Ronkonkoma at 8:59AM, is operating 10 minutes late because of an earlier unauthorized vehicle on the tracks east of Hicksville." They couldn't anticipate that a car on the tracks might cause a delay and pro actively send a warning?

So I'm on the #LIRR and the gentleman next to me wants to pay the ridiculous on board fare. He has only a $100 bill. The collector refused him. Apparently the ticket window (they still have these) refused him also. Millions in the hole but your money is no good here sir. #mismanagement #MTA

Eh. They claim to have the best burger on LI. I'd say of was the best between here and Orient Point. Don't bother ordering lemonade. It didn't taste like there were any lemons in it.

Breakfast was amazing. Definitely have the brioche french toast. Any place that serves Vermont maple syrup by default is A+ in my book.

The food here is always fresh and the service fast. We eat here a few times per year when we visit the family and the owners have always been friendly and accommodating. Very surprised by the few poor reviews.

The service was terrible. We had at least three waiters for a party of 10 but not all at the same time. We had no idea who to ask for service. As a result I ate my meal without a beverage because no one ever came back to check on us. The food was horrible. My steak (sirloin) was over cooked and so burnt on the outside all I could taste was the burned meat. If there was any seasoning on the steak it was completely lost and the meat was very tough. The appetizer, mozzarella and tomatoe salad was over season with pepper (I think) which completely ruined it. The only redeeming quality of the entree was the shrimp scampi.

Great place to purchase maple syrup. I've scoured the internet in search of high quality syrup at a reasonable price and year after year I return here. Skip the store and order from this family-run business. You won't be disappointed.
