One of the challenges of shooting in RAW format is deciding what and how much processing to do. (Tangent – why is RAW capitalized? It is not an acronym such as JPEG or TIFF. It simply means unprocessed. In Wikipedia, it isn’t capitalized. But somehow, it…

Introduction
I an a freelance photographer based in Tacoma, Washington. I discovered my passion for photography at an early age in the beautiful landscapes of the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, where I was born and raised. My  photographic skills are largely self taught; my formal education is in geology. Though my portfolio contains images from around the world, I hold a special love for the American southwest; naming my company, Seldom Seen Photography, after a fictional character from southern Utah. My photography has won both local and international awards, and has been published by National Geographic, Northwest Travel Magazine, EOS Magazine, and Washington State Tourism, among others. I have also written several travel photography articles and teach photography in the classroom as well as to individuals. You can contact me through this profile, or by visiting my website.
