Has anybody out there ever blindly swapped out an old Windows install with a Linux install skinned to resemble Windows to see if anybody noticed? I'm curious to hear stories successful or not. I'm considering doing so for family members that will likely not ever notice the difference.

iTunes = Fail (for not having a web based service that's free).  Yeah, I'm a total fan of Google Music (Play).

Thank You Liz and Marie, although it did not help you from being eliminated from this past Sunday's The Amazing Race ... you did prove my point that attractive women do not have to pay for anything

Ok, I'm officially done with windows on my primary desktop. I'm going Linux this time. I'm well versed in Ubuntu, Fedora and the like. Taking it to the community: What Linux distro. and/or desktop environment are you using for day-to-day stuff? Anybody using a non-standard desktop? Or a desktop environment that doesn't ship with the distro of choice?

I'm a console gamer, have been for more than 20 years now. I used to game on the PC, but got tired of patching this, upgrading that, driver this, directx that ... The plug and play simplicity of the console appeals to me. I still game on the PC, but mostly low-impact Indy games and some casual games. I've played a lot of games on Steam using a controller and big picture mode, and I must say, it is a far superior experience than using WASD on the keyboard. Any other predominantly console gamers out there excited about the Steam Machine(s) and that crazy new controller?

Your post is me to a 'T'. I switched to console because I couldn't afford to rebuild my PC every time a new game came out. I loved PC gaming and I still play some older games I love on PC , but it's so much nicer to just put it in and play.

You cannot let the content providers (MPAA, RIAA, etc.) Influence the government on how the internet should be managed ... we need to kill this bill
John Davison originally shared:

The Stop Online Piracy Act is something we all need to be paying attention to. The chances of it actually being passed might be slim, but we need legislators to pay much more attention to Internet-related bills. As written, they're nuts. Props to +Jim Sterling for putting it on gamers' maps before anyone else.
Your Modern Warfare 3 YouTube videos could soon be outlawed; your Skyrim Daedric weapons montage too. Here's why.
