More than half of all children in the U.S. are not drinking enough water, according to a new +Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health study.

#health   #children
Drinking enough water is essential for physiological processes such as circulation, metabolism, temperature regulation, and waste removal. More than half of all children and adolescents in the United States are under-hydrated — probably because they’re not drinking enough water, according to the first national study of its kind from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Donald Trump looks like Owen Wilson in this picture. They both have a side-oriented mop of hair as well. A comedic biopic could be promising.

Donald Trump didn't want this story out and threatened anyone who published it, so here it is.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump claimed that Mexican immigrants were “rapists” but the hotel magnate has his own rape story and his lawyer has threatened a reporter saying if the story is published “what I'm going to do to you is going to be fucking disgusting.” ...

Sunday Sunrise

I managed to get up and head down to Circular Quay this morning for sunrise even though I'm not a morning person and I was going alone... And I am so glad I did!! I arrived about 40 minutes before sunrise and the clouds in the sky were already full of colour!

A cinema after my own heart. Aquarius Theater in Palo Alto reopens with one new and one classic: The Third Man. Haven't seen it on the big screen.

Divers cut 2-inch thick rope off Whale Shark.

During a Mexican excursion, divers encountered a gentle giant caught in a bit of a problem. Found with deep cuts in its skin, this whale shark had been entangled in a large rope. The divers believe that the rope had been wrapped around the animal for quite some time, as they noticed that the material was encrusted with barnacles

Got so hot today in Seattle that this native Floridian literally upchucked. If you've had as many serious heat strokes as I've had in my life, or even had one in your life, be careful out there - every time you have another you are more susceptible to more frequent heat injuries! I think I'm going to move to Northern Greenland. #heatstroke #heatexhaustion #heatstress

Holy reflective heat sink, Batman! These ants have incredible hair.

The Sahara silver ant's hair coating manages to cool them down by as much as 50 degrees Fahrenheit, researchers discovered.

I love when new and old tech meet.

The Miura Fold

The Miura fold is a form of rigid origami, meaning that the fold can be carried out by a continuous motion in which, at each step, each parallelogram is completely flat. This property allows it to be used to fold surfaces made of rigid materials; for instance, it has been used to simulate large solar panel arrays for space satellites in the Japanese space program.[3][4]
A folded Miura fold can be packed into a very compact shape, its thickness restricted only by the thickness of the folded material. The fold can also be unpacked in just one motion by pulling on opposite ends of the folded material, and likewise folded again by pushing the two ends back together. In the application to solar arrays, this property reduces the number of motors required to unfold this shape, reducing the overall weight and complexity of the mechanism.

This is crazy.
The oldest snake fossil on record looks almost like a modern snake, except for one glaring difference: It has four feet, each with five digits, a new study finds.

OK #Vancouver , this is impressive!

"50 per cent of all trips made by foot, bicycle or public transit."
A record number of cyclists pedaled their way through Vancouver's separated bike lanes in June, helping the city reach its goal of having 50 per cent of all trips made by foot, bicycle or public transit.
