Perhaps virtual reality will be our next Wild, Wild West uncharted universe? (Until the space program gets back in gear, that is!)

I'm excited to watch this evolve! At the same time I am secretly tucking away plans to have a cozy cabin in the woods to make my escape! ;)

Trek Into the Black Rock Desert.  Burning Man Photowalk

Thought it was time I shared this photo of our #burningmanphotowalk .  I had just arrived on the playa after a whirlwind road trip from Colorado, plopped down my belongings in a Flaming Lotus Girl camp called 'FunTown' in Illumination Village, set up a few necessities so that I didn't have to flounder around in the dark for when I returned (after an anticipated long evening of shooting...once I go out for a shoot, exploring in the desert here it typically goes on til the wee hours...that's one of the great beauties of this place, there simply is no way you can possibly see and experience everything and it goes on non stop!  So, one learns to live in the moment (possibly having an ultimate direction) but allowing yourself to be carried towards this shiny spectacle to that really awesome outfit to oh wow! there's a ship floating across the desert to oh what a glorious sunset!  There simply is no end to the possibilities here!  :)

I gathered my camera bag (I opted not to carry my tripod this trip), nalgene bottle full of some tasty drink, a couple of snacks, goggles, hat, jacket, gloves, head lamp, glow sticks, bandana (attire for both dust storms and the cool desert nights!) hopped on my trusty bicycle and swooped off onto the playa to meet up with this crew!

We wandered around, talked shop and had a lovely evening snapping photos off in to the sunset!

Thank you +Trey Ratcliff for being such a generous and gracious playa host gathering this gaggle of photogs together on the playa for some epic fun!

How The West Was Won

Snowmobiling near the old bridge from the Denver and Salt Lake Railway through Rollins Pass along the Continental Divide.  Oh what a spectacular view!!! :) Look closely and you can see some of our snowmobile crew on the path towards the mid-left of the photo. You can read more about the pass and the railway through the mountains at:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollins_Pass. Colorado has such a rich history and many, many awesome views!  I just can't get enough of trekking about the wild, wild west!

INDIANA JONES to Get 'the James Bond Recasting Treatment' With Bradley Cooper if Harrison Ford Can't do it? Makes Sense if True
One of the timeless movie franchises ever made is Indiana Jones. Filmed as period pieces on real sets with practical special effects, the Indy franchise can hold up over time and never look dated. Indy was creator George Lucas' ode to the serial films of Ho...

Rubble Of An Ancient Venue...Remnants of the Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece 2004.

This makes me very sad and somewhat angry, too!...What a waste of such a stunning venue! I was there to see it in all it's glory! It was spectacular! Sigh!

I did wonder how they intended to utilize the grounds so far removed from the city when the Olympics closed. I imagined they had a post event action plan after spending all that money (really, 15 billion is hardly chump change!) AND making a brand new light rail just to get out there?!

I hope other cities see this and learn a lesson! Just imagine what good uses all this money might have been put towards! It would have been wiser to consider more temporary structures for the events not typical in Greece and without a likelihood of future use (such as I saw at the Soccer World Cup in Berlin, Germany in 2006...They put these monstrous structures up in the city and then removed them later). Sad, truly sad especially in a country where there are fellow Greek countrymen and women in need.
The nightmare scenario for every Olympic host city.
