When I was six years old, my mother found me in the garage with ice cream dripping from my fingers...with pieces of waffle cone in my hair, and a helmet strapped to my head.
I was supposed to be on my bike riding to the park for a soccer game, but I had discovered a new flavor of Haagen-Dazs in the garage freezer.
Clearly, eating ice cream with my fingers was far more interesting than soccer.
In other words, my interest obsession with food started at a very young age.
While other kids spent their afternoons watching Hey Arnold or Lizzie Maguire, I watched Food Network and read cookbooks that taught me about the chemistry of cooking.
I began cooking all my meals from scratch in college after suffering from severe acid reflux from the overprocessed cafeteria food. Upon graduating with a BA in Economics, I decided to forgo the finance industry and instead create FifteenSpatulas.com, a recipe and cooking website with a mission of showing people that cooking from scratch isn't as intimidating as one might think, with step-by-step photos and explanations of the how's and why's of cooking.
