Took this at around 1 AM last night. Spending a few days on the Danish island of Bornholm (sort of a second home for me). This is the first time I've tried to get a starry sky. I'll get better with time, hopefully ;) Still, this didn't turn out too bad.

This time of year is very unpredictable here, weather wise, as often there's a lot of snow. This year it's looking like we'll have a mild and somewhat green holiday season.

Was browsing through photos taken with a camera I'm dreaming about getting, and I came across this. Beautiful in its simplicity.
~ Dancing in the rain of descending ash ~ The idea has been in mind for the better part of 6 months to make a picture like this. It certainly has a darker tone to it, which I seem to be attracted to. Ill leave the image to be interpreted as you wish. Enjoy Elements captured with a Pentax 645Z Processed in PS CC. I wanted to make an image depicting how huge New York City is, so here you have everything from people  on the river walk all the way up to the tallest building in the city, the World Trade Center.

New York is awesome. I still miss it.

Always nice to get the stories the media aren't telling, which shows us the world is actually getting better.

The world is getting better.
We are living through the most astonishing period of human progress in history. And nobody’s telling us about it.

I know - +The Thinking Atheistspent one of his podcasts talking about the fact that these are the most peaceful times we have ever had. War and famine is at a record low. The rare beheading posted online by a Muslim fanatic is spectacular on TV, but giving it that much attention only serves the terrorists.

So, I've been looking into the Pentax 645Z, which seems pretty darn awesome. However, the cheapest price here in Norway is $3,000 more expensive than at B&H or Amazon. That's insane! And this is now, at a time when the exhange rate is at a 15-year high and almost everything is more expensive in the U.S. than here in Norway.

Anyone have a sane explanation for this madness?

Man, the more I'm reading about this camera the more I'm drooling for it. I also just stumbled upon this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1200235-REG/pentax_kb16599_645z_medium_format_dslr.html

That is, of course, an insane amount of money for me to spend on camera equipment, but my subconscious is seriously pushing some rationalizations for it ;)

From what I'm reading it's almost like getting a PhaseOne for a fraction of the price.

I've been saving for a new and larger apartment for a while - it'll be interesting to see if I end up with a slightly smaller apartment than I had initially planned... ;)

Find the odd one out :) Awesome shot by Mike Reyfman!
Voice is critical survival tool for King Penguins. When the chick is old enough, King Penguins put it in one of the crèches, returning every several days with food. Both parents will leave at the same time. All the chicks in the rookery will stay together until their parents return. When the parents come home they recognize each other by the sound of their voices. Despite the thousands of youngsters crowded together on this plain in South Georgia...

I really like this portrait of a pygmy kid by +Trey Ratcliff (whom I'm just going to assume you're familiar with). He has such a thoughtful expression.
Who said smoking isn't cool if you're a kid? Hey, this pygmy has had a hard day, you know… just takin' it easy now. As you can tell from this comment and the previous People of Papua New Guinea post, I'm not a Photo Journalist or anything. But I do love to take photos of these kinds of scenes and I absolutely loved the people of Papua New Guinea… I'm already having thoughts of going back! :) - Trey Ratcliff Click here to read the rest of this p...
