Another year gone equals a new showreel to share! Digital-out-of-home advertising makes a proper appearance on the reel for the first time. Although the majority of our signage ads are still created with motion-graphics, we've been increasingly shooting them on Arri Amira and RED with the same production values as broadcast commercials. Looking back to the showreels we were putting out ten years ago the entire style of production is markedly different - back then there were no large-sensor cameras, no prime lenses, no significant colour-grading.

As we all know, time is money, and there is nothing more time-consuming than the back and forth that happens when a brief to a supplier is lacking. The supplier either has to ask a multitude of questions to be able to respond accurately (with a quote, an idea, a script etc) or they just play a guessing game and inevitably disappoint the client and themselves.
The JMS Christmas card has dropped onto virtual doormats, and you'll have noticed we now make mention of advertising photography services... beautifully demonstrated by Emma and Luke. We've been shooting commercials for more years than we care to mention (ahem, 32 years) and increasingly clients have been asking... 'can you grab some photos at the same time for our print campaign?' Well, now we officially offer this!
We have just completed production of the sponsor bumpers for ITV Anglia Weather - and this is the THIRD CONSECUTIVE sponsor we have produced them for. So, here's the first in a series of four seasonal bumpers that will be airing on Anglia during the year ahead.
Simply had to share this photo of a small set we constructed for a commercial which is currently in post-production. Without a doubt the most atmospheric scene we've created in the studio - and with a beautifully simple lighting setup, a single HMI through the roof-light, a soft-box to provide some fill, and a single pendant bulb to add to the atmosphere.
Our latest first-time TV advertiser - Gardensite - has gone to air with a campaign running exclusively on Sky's AdSmart. The commercial (part of an ongoing campaign of ads) will be shown across the country, but only in Sky households that meet criteria selected by the advertiser.
John Mountford is back on screen! Well... kind of. Our Chairman took the role of newsreader in a corporate video commissioned by Anglian Water for the wider water industry. The video was so successful we're happy to say that we made it twice!
