Hangar 9 30cc Beaver.  Pretty airplane.  I like the hidden control rods/cables, but it does make it a bit of a PITA to assemble.  Anyway, usual H9 quality and construction.  All good there.  I thought I was getting a break from my Stinson build, though.  Turns out this plane is a bit of a challenge in its own right...for an ARF.

+Michael Ramsey Nothing major, just frustrations with servo installation (flaps have scale linkages that are hidden and the rudder and elevator are as well...I have big hands:)).  I get the feeling this airplane was designed around specific hardware and I'm not using that stuff.  I've got some higher end spektrum servos I had laying around...and they are SLIGHTLY bigger than the spec servos...I'm installing a DLE 30 instead of the EVO 33GX...all that stuff would go like butter if I bought the spec'ed gear.  I bought this plane to use what I had laying around, though...so I knew it was going to be a bit more challenging.  The engine install in particular has been a bear as the DLE is WAY different than the EVO (rear carb vs. front carb, aftermarket pitts muffler vs. stock EVO pitts muffler, etc.).

Here's a demo of how the lighting will work on the Stinson.  Using an ElectroDynamics SunVis lighting set.  They are of excellent quality and well worth the cash outlay.

Had a day to work on my new 91" Extreme Flight Extra.  Watched some movies while doing it.  Good times.

This bird is getting some cool stuff:

DA-70
Savox 1270TGs all around running on 2S Lipo direct
12 Channel Powersafe RX

Should be fun when it's finished!

Joe just maidened his 54% scale Edge...scratch-built no plans but those from his own brain.  Joe is a class act and a great pilot/builder!  Take some time to head over the thread at www.flyinggiants.com (http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74397&page=19) and congratulate Joe!

Snow day.  Maiden Model Products skis on a 50cc WWRC Laminar Sukhoi.  Worked really well.  Very little trim change with the skis and plenty of flotation.

I built retractable landing lights for the Stinson...they aren't perfect but they mimic the full scale well enough to be alright.
