I created a tutorial for creating a dreamy, Lord of the Rings style Orton Effect in Photoshop. The Orton Effect has become popular again in recent years, especially amongst landscape photographers, and it's a great tool to add to your post-processing arsenal http://www.shutterevolve.com/quick-photoshop-secrets-7-how-to-create-a-dreamy-orton-effect/
Article By Jimmy McIntyre In today's tutorial, we are going to look at how to easily make a dreamy, Orton effect in your images, which in recent years has become popular once again, especially

I've been meaning to put this image on 500px for a while. This was my most exciting location to shoot so far this year https://500px.com/photo/116391711/interconnected-by-jimmy-mcintyre
I'd been wanting to shoot this in Dubai for a long time. This final edit is composed of 32 exposures. You can see the workflow used to create this image on my blog: Interconnected You can also download my my Free Easy Panel for Photoshop! Fit For A Sheik - Meydan Royal Bridge, Dubai

A bridge for the royal family in Dubai. Imagine owning your own bridge!

For you digital blenders, I've created a new set of advanced luminosity masks capable of more accurate selections than classical luminosity masks. Feel free to read about them here, and see the before/after for this image: http://www.throughstrangelenses.com/2015/04/27/fit-for-a-sheik-meydan-bridge-dubai/

This is the second video in the Photoshop Secrets tutorials that I started a couple of weeks. I was pleasantly surprised to see this video was shared by Petapixel, SLR Lounge, Design taxi, and other sites. The tutorial got 30,000 views in 5 days! It's a very cool technique that I hope you enjoy.

http://www.shutterevolve.com/quick-photoshop-secrets-2-how-to-make-precise-adjustments-based-on-colour/
Article By Jimmy McIntyreIn the second video in this series of Photoshop Secrets, we look at how to make very precise changes to your image based solely on colour. Surprisingly we do this by using a Black & White adjustment layer. This allows us to break our image down to primary colours, so that we …

In The Clouds
A quick shot from last week's shoot on one of the Zenith Towers. The clouds were howling through these buildings at a tremendous speed, so it took a few attempts to capture them partially covering the building.
I've been upgrading some of my gear recently ahead of upcoming photography trips. If you're curious, you can see my new gear, the workflow explanation for this image, and a before/after comparison in today's blog post: http://www.throughstrangelenses.com/2015/08/03/in-the-clouds/

A Long Way Down!
After 5 attempts, I finally made it to the rooftop of one of the massive Zenith towers in Busan, and it was absolutely worth the wait :D

This is a handheld image, from two exposures. To see a workflow explanation and a before/after comparison, please see today's blog post: http://www.throughstrangelenses.com/2015/07/27/finally-on-top-of-the-zenith/

Reflections in Abu Dhabi
I was really looking forward to seeing these crisp reflections at the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque. At the beginning of the evening it was fairly windy, so the reflections weren't clear. Just as we were heading out, we re-visited this spot and were delighted to get some shots in before the wind picked up again.

If you'd like to see the workflow used in this image, an interesting before/after, and the EXIF data, please see my blog: http://www.throughstrangelenses.com/2015/04/22/clear-mosque-reflections/

Bright Lights of Dubai
Dubai is an incredible place for roof-topping. The views are stunning and the bribes to security guards to get on the rooftops are not too expensive :D
