The video is long but worth it.

This is so so great. The whole thing is good, but if you only want the serious part, it's at ~minute 18 or so.

How many times has James Bond and Harry Potter or other franchises copied themselves?

Dude, do you even Star Wars? :)
There is a dangerous, delusionary deception doing the rounds in America this holiday season. 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' is no remake.

I saw it, it sucks even as a remake.
Ford phoned, nay texted in his scenes
Fin is made to be the baffoon ala Jarjar Binks
It is so obvious that Rey is related to Obiwan
Not even sure why that guy with the mustache was even in the film
And yes, I have read Joseph Campbell

For those that watched the new Star Wars, here is an interesting article filling in a lot of the details between it and Return of the Jedi as well as answering questions left unanswered in the movie. Spoilers contained within.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens leaves us with many questions and mysteries. Join me as I try to answer and theorize about the Force Awakens questions.

I'll be surprised if half of them get answered in the next movies. We'll probably have to go to the books and spinoffs.

Go to google.com and search for "a long time ago in a galaxy far far away". Make sure your speakers are turned on.

Merry Christmas! That time of year when people celebrate someone entering their homes in the middle of the night.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is, at its core, an enjoyable movie with great new characters but it suffers missteps; some of which are based on how it retraced the original Star Wars.

Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo are great to watch. They are full of energy and humor. Rey is the standout of the film. Seeing her become more aware of her abilities as the movie progresses is cool. She knows she can do things with the Force, she doesn’t doesn’t know how to control it.

Finn is funny and energetic but his character doesn’t fit with his backstory. He doesn’t act like someone who was brainwashed at an early age.

Poe is charismatic but he’s missing from most of the movie. It would have been nice to see him making his own way back to the Resistance.

Kylo Ren is intriguing. Having him take out his frustrations on computer consoles provided moments of brevity and helped to serve his character. His frustrations and insecurities are only heightened when Rey is able to harness the Force better than he is. He’s trying to emulate Vader but I wonder if he wasn’t paying attention when his parents and Luke told him how Vader turned to the Light Side in the end.

I didn’t mind that Han was split from Leia given the backstory with Kylo. I didn’t like that he was a smuggler again, reverting him back to his New Hope days. He was still fun to watch though. The movie could have done without the two smuggler gangs and monster chase in the middle act. It just didn’t fit.

So Luke is missing and everyone is trying to find him. Yet, when they find out where he is, they send Rey, someone who everyone just met? Leia was spearheading the effort to find Luke, shouldn’t she be the one to go to Luke? She should at least have a conversation with Rey to the effect of, “I sense the Force is great in you. Go to Luke for training. Tell him I said hi.”

Both factions are distracted in their search for Luke when the First Order’s weapon becomes fully operational. It can destroy planets and the characters even acknowledge that this is, in effect, another Death Star (Although while the first Death Star was built as a weapon to destroy planets and instill fear, the second Death Star was built as a trap to lure the Alliance and Luke). According to Internet reaction afterwards, the Starkiller Base destroyed the home base of the New Republic; a move the movie did a poor job of explaining. I thought it was just some random planets being destroyed. So is the new Republic no more, leaving a power void for control of the galaxy?

Despite some plotting and editing problems, the movie is brought to life with the strength of the saga’s new characters. I look forward to seeing them again when they (hopefully) won’t be encumbered by a remix of old plotlines.

Grade: B

My Hangouts just updated with the new emojii. Ugh. Some poor decisions for changes. The old two hands in the air was so much better than the new one. #hangoutsfail 😞

The light switches and lights were confusing. We needed lights and outlets that went controlled by the same switch. Turning off the hall light turned off everything.

Nice clean place with friendly, quick service. The menu selection is different from any other place I've been to making it unique. The food is good and fresh.

Room was very clean. The hotel is conveniently within walking distance to a Cracker Barrel. WiFi was too weak to use and breakfast was average.

Great service and a good atmosphere. The food was good however the selection of items is lacking some staples of most Mexican restaurants; no chimichangas?!? The cost was more than most other Mexican restaurants I'm used to as well.
