Got back from Pubcon then went on Skynews to talk about it and Brand as the biggest ranking factor. Thought some may find it interesting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2b-WHvgjIg

Sorry not a member of that community +Daniel Laidler  but launch with accurate sitemaps from Day 1. One strategy is to break them up into 1000 page maps so they load more quickly for the bot. But definitely have accurate ones prior to launch
Hi All,

I have a question/s about Sitemaps on large scale websites (1+ million indexed pages), that I was hoping someone could help me out with.

Basically I am in the process of auditing a site 4 months post launch, where I believe the sitemaps implementation potentially affected it's ability to rank (at least in the short term).

Q: For a large scale site, when is the best time frame to release the new dynamic sitemaps? On launch, 1/2/3 months post launch?

If you would recommend post-launch, can you suggest why it's more beneficial than at site launch?

Thanks in advance!

A nice summary

Google Authorship is over.  The summary:

1) The whole authorship program is shut down. Not just the visual part in SERP, but any usage of that data.

2) You can leave or remove the rel=author markup from your websites, as you wish. Google will not use that data anyway.

3) Authorship markup will be removed from the Structured Data Testing Tool, sooner or later.

4) "Publishership" is not affected by this change.

5) Other forms of markup are not affected by this change.

6) In SERPs for logged-in users, this change will not affect the presence, visibility or design of Google+ posts from people who are in their circles.

On a personal note, I would like to take a moment to thank those gentlemen who decided to leave Google+ just because the Authorship program was the only reason they were using the social network. Your intelligent contribution to the enrichment of other people's social experience will be missed.
