Had to add this review - I recently bought "Quarter Share" by Nathan Lowell, a member here I believe, and while it sat till this past Saturday on the "to read" pile, I got to it early Sat morn...and sat on my couch till I finished it Sat afternoon. One long interesting, innovative read for sure! Loved that he crafted a world I enjoyed, a hero I related to, chars that appealed to me - and yes it's the first of a whole series!

You have a brand new reader, Nathan, and i just ordered the next two of your Trader's Tales series...can't wait to get them and keep right on a reading!

Anyone care to share your thoughts on a new SF mag called NovoPulp? Found them here at G+ and have sent in a submission but wondered about others and their own experiences with this mag?
Have you been eager to see the cover. for the second NovoPulp Anthology? Then wait no more! We chose this year to commission a cover based on one of the stories in the anthology, 'Drive Like Lightning' by B. Morris Allen. The artwork is by +Marc Reynes Ferra, who also did the cover art for the ...

Plot doesn't interest me very much these days. I've become more interested in character-driven works. Authors who can handle stylistics well also interest me. These modes requires a work to include description that does not push plot forward.

I still pretty much only buy paperbacks.  I'm old school I guess.  I get free ebooks, but I rarely pay for those.

After a major search about 10 years ago for software that I could use to organize and list all of my pre-novel writing - I decided on using WriteItNow. Just finally finished my second novel and it not only has "stood up" after those 10 years but with the additions awhile back it's grown too. Love the software, it's inexpensive and it is so easy to learn how to use. Give it a look see here -
Download a free copy of WriteItNow. Write novels, generate characters, ideas, titles and names. Use our free add-ons to generate characters from Victorian England and 19th Century USA. Generate personalities using the Enneagram and Myers-Briggs.

I was using WriteItNow before I discovered Scrivener. I still use it as a reference as so much work had been done already. My favourite aspect is the calendar function which has been invaluable in assigning days to the dates of birth, death, marriage, etc. Much research done in earlier days is still stored there. I was able to copy and past from WiN to Scrivener when I finally got my act together.

I think they are much easier to use than Smashwords, and really efficient, but as for sales - they remain to be seen :)

RE: CreateSpace...can anyone here offer up any criticisms or laudatory notes on this site? My book is ready to go but before I do that, I wanted to learn what others think of this POD type of service? Any counsel?

Query: On using Dragon speech recognition software...I wonder if anyone could offer up their own experiences on using same - or a clone?

As I write sciFi, I'm SURE that it'd drive me crazy at first with the special terms I'd need to add to the dBase....but once that's done - is it worth giving this a try?

Been typing for over 50 years and am capable of like 50+ words per minute...but if this might work it'd get my efficiency way up..

Anyone care to share?

I can't dictate stories. My brain doesn't work that way. It's way faster for me to type them than try to figure out what to say.

Good luck and let us know how it works!

THE ABSOLUTELY worst service possible....we ordered one month ago and never got the order after waiting 2.5 hours, calling in twice to ask where the order was and then ordered from Waterdown PizzaPizza who delivered in 41 minutes and only THEN did the PizzaHut driver show up. So we tried again last night - we love the pizza, but the service...good god....we again had to call in after 65 minutes to ask and were told the driver couldn't find our house....sigh...it is in the core of Waterdown on every map and when he finally showed up at the door - sorry, is all he could say, my GPS said you lived the other way as he held up his left hand and said 'turn right' sigh.... To top it off - of course, we didn't get what we ordered...sigh....they forgot the wings and sent some kind of chicken nuggets...sigh.... We're DONE with the Waterdown PizzaHut - the new owners know NADA about service....so we'll find another spot to order from from now on! #badCustservice

We've used Beth here at Verico over the past years and would like to just say that for great service that cost us nothing -- we got the best rates and terms that could be found! Beth should be congratulated for the work that she did...and I just wanted to say that too!

My wife and I have used Beth for I think three mortgages for different houses over the past decade - and we've NOT been disappointed! Even when we bought firm and looked like we'd own two houses, Beth came thru with a mortgagor who gave us a great rate and we owned both for months till the old house sold...we will continue to use Beth and Verico and we're so so pleased with the service and the reliability!
