Pretty sure I've never taken anything too seriously; especially myself.

$150 > $1,000???

So let me get this straight:  I can buy a media streamer for $150 that streams and decodes nearly every type/format of audio+video from a NAS, but if I drop $1,000 on an AVR it'll only decode audio???  Seriously?!?!?!?!

Solder a friggin' Marvel or Realtech chip on there for God's sake!!!

Anyone know of an AVR that does video decode?

Holy crop that is a nice Sony. Didn't realize it is a ES series but why only 100 per channel so the sub shud at least be like a 240w... Tricky part is finding switches to work with the receiver for home automation..... Are you getting that from Amazon seems like a good price

What's the etiquette around using your laptop in public? If you stop for lunch at the August First Bakery in Burlington, Vt., keep your computer in your bag. The cafe is banning screens.

+Jim Preis What a dream that would be: going into Peet's here in Mill Valley and finding it devoid of furrowed-brow, serious-faced folks furiously typing their Big Thoughts into MacBook Airs.

At a kite fest. I thought I was in Delaware, but Google says otherwise. Either way pretty cool.

The policy is designed to keep workers happy and motivated. The ones who aren’t can take the money and leave

It's a great idea for both sides. The catch is management has to create an attractive, professional, and exciting work environment even if the employees work long hours. You can't just implement the policy by itself. Oh by the way... you have to have a thriving business for this to work.

Outstanding food. My wife and I not only like Thai, but cook it on occasion. The Thom Ka chicken is quite rich and this is becuase they use a coconut cream base, but the proportion of all the other ingredients is precise and perfect. I had the house green curry with chicken at 2.5 peppers on a scale of one to four and it was perfect. The version of green curry they use here includes the baby egg plant and green peas. I am NOT a fan of eggplant, but the green curry had saturated it and I ate four significant pieces one right after another. Wife had a red curry based shrimp dish and reported it outstanding; spot on heat, sweet and overall flavor. The atmosphere was very nice too. The place is huge. We're visiting from Cary, NC and when we come back this way, we will go back eagerly!!!
