How can it only be Tuesday?

Tonight I’m waiting for my under performing (and probably soon-to-be former) mobile phone provider to call me to try to get to the bottom of my poor reception and call quality issues at my abode.  And I can’t think of any better way to spend this time…

The Almost Mid-Week Pause

I admit it.  I’m blogging tonight because I have two something else’s to do but I can’t quite get the courage to do them.  Yep, I’m procrastinating.  Because, as a wise man once said: “Hard work pays off eventually.  Procrastination pays off now.” My…

When Life Gets In The Way

I haven’t been able to do much photographic work of late, but all in all it has been for a good cause. Last weekend all of my photographic pursuits were squashed by family from out-of-town visiting.  As I had not had visitors to the new abode, there was a…

Stepping Into the Digital Darkroom - I'm Nowhere Near Fin(i)ched

I am still buried under what is an incredible number of images to work after my weekend at Butch Ramirez’s Rocking R6 Ranch.  And I can’t wipe the silly grin off of my face.  Wow that a great day of shooting!  Thinking about going through the images…

It was another rainout for the weekend.  Overcast skies and liquid sunshine kept the shooting possibilities to a minimum.  I’d like to say I spent either of the days this weekend working on previously-shot images, but that would be wrong, too.  My prep…

I’m sure glad I’m not paid based on my ability to think and be able to follow through. On about Thursday morning I started eying the weekend weather and thought, “Wow… Beautiful skies & warm temperatures.  This would be a great weekend to start my Ode…

Thank you +Celia Lewis.  I hope that I'm on the trails with the camera and tripod over my shoulder.  Right now the weather forecast sadly looks very unpromising.  But I still have most of last summer's odes to process so maybe the rain will allow some of those shots to emerge.

There is no such thing as bad rain in South Texas. Inconvenient?  Yes.  Destructive?  Sometimes.  But bad?  Never. Every drop is precious and every drop is appreciated.  But it does lead to circumstances like this Saturday where I am waiting out the rain,…

19 Days Until Spring... and Not a Second Too Soon

It has been quite the gloomy, cold, blustery, and wet weekend here in South Texas.  Take the dreary weather, combine it with a cold I found late in the week, and I pretty much squashed any idea of going out to make images.  It isn’t that they couldn’t be…

A good MetroPark, but not my favorite in the system. Quiet. Good trails. Decent access to the river.

Decent lunch. We both ordered the soup & salad special. Ordered off the low side of the salads. Ended up with (and was charged for) the signature salads. Service was decent, but that was good solid check/tip padding. Tip reduced to 10%. Unimpressed.
