TheStreet thinks that the iPhone 6 will demolish Android. Could they be more wrong?

I took a peek at the PDF file file that contains some of the recent budget numbers and it was notable how much spending has increased on women's outreach while spending on hackfests and other things has declined significantly. Does spending so much on women's outreach really make sense? I don't think so and I'll tell you why in this column.

I would like to see more Women in the tech industry, However I do not think that goal should be accomplished via preferential treatment. I have been trying to "get into" Open Source for a long time. I want to eventually work in Open Source in one way or another while doing my part improving it as well.

I find it insulting when due to gender someone could be granted the dream job that I been chasing for my entire life.

There are jobs that men are heavily employed at and jobs that women are heavily employed. Try being Male and getting a front desk job... Where I live it does not matter that I can type 100+wpm or do a better job... A female will attract more clients and thus males are overlooked. Sometimes having breasts is a disadvantage for a Woman, The majority of the time these days its not though.

Yeah, you pretty much summed up how I feel about these issues that in all reality do not matter to me.
Android app store issues? My phone is a phone, Thus It does not matter to me.
Netflix selection? I said screw netflix when I switched exclusively to Linux as my OS of choice. I never really looked back because the selection of content that I enjoyed I had burned through. They rarely add new anime and I am not interested in the North American brainwashing scheme that are 'movies'.
Next up is the XP death. I stopped using windows for a while and while this means we may gain Linux users. It does not really affect me at all.

Is Samsung the Mitt Romney of the Android world? I think they are, and I'll explain why the company gives off the slimy aura of a used car salesman.

There's an enormous amount of hand-wringing in the media about the death of Windows XP. Here's why I really don't care about any of it.

A family member just passed away and I decided to dig an old laptop out so I could continue to work on a website while I was gone. I discovered it had XP on it. It was rather slow too. Then I discovered it would be a pain to try to run Apache 2.4 and php 5.5 since php 5.5 is not supported apparently.  I installed Ubuntu because I like it and it is easy. The laptop is like new, it's fast and installing Apache, PHP and Mysql is much easier than on a Windows system.
Noe I just have to do some more google work to finish setting up the virtual host and other configuration files.
