Embed Google+ Polls?

One of the most interesting uses of G+ Polls that I haven't seen discussed is the ability to embed a poll on your website. Although I haven't tested yet, you should be able to embed a G+ Poll just like you would any other post.

Good:
- Eliminates need for third party polling ap/plugin
- Extends reach of poll beyond website
- Poll could be used to bring people to website

Not so good:
- Could potentially pull people from website into G+ or other platform
- Poll cold potentially be seen in a number of varying contexts possibly affecting data collected in poll (if data collection is the goal of the poll).

And for the sake of jumping on the bandwagon:

Will you embed G+ polls in your website?

Hmm...where's your comment +Yifat Cohen. Interesting to see that they've taken this feature away. When I first posted this is was still possible to embed the entire post bringing the poll with it (wasn't it?). I see a couple of working G+ polls still living on other websites. It looks as though these were embedded when G+ polls first went live.

Obviously, I haven't been keeping up with G+ lately but would love to hear your thoughts.

Just got an email from someone offering to help provide content for my website. They offered to send over a word map to see if I could start incorporating any of them into the content I already produce.

People are still dong this and worse yet, others are paying for it!!

The Impact of "Likes"

Wired author +Mathew Honan  "Liked" everything in his FB feed for two days. The experiment demonstrates how FB (and I'm sure Google) feed on user data. Also demonstrates the challenge of moving content of value into a user's feed.

Could the pursuit of today's indicators of online success (likes, followers, favorites, etc...) risk polluting the character and value of your social media engagement? Author Mat Honan conducted a two-day experiment where he 'liked' absolutely everything he saw on Facebook. The result was that he (and his friends) became quickly inundated with a tidal wave of noxious and banal content. As Honan warns, "[w]e go down rabbit holes of special interests until we’re lost in the queen’s garden, cursing everyone above ground." What safeguards do you use to be 'successful' online while still producing and attracting quality?

Dead or just not done well?

RIP the traditional blog
Are you still wasting your time creating long form blog posts that nobody seems to read?
Do you want more readers? Do you crave more engagement?
Well read this, ironically, long post to see where you are going wrong.

With the rise of mobile devices and people spending more and more time in the stream we have come to the decision that the traditional blog post is dead.

Great step by step breakdown of today's keyword research.
Using a hypothetical client, Jeremy Gottlieb shows you just how much keyword research you can get done in 90 minutes (and walks you step-by-step through how to do it).

I need to experiment with Headlines and Revive Old Posts. Both look like they could be very powerful.

Although "content marketing" may be the buzz word, it's more than just creating content. Content marketing is an all inclusive process that goes beyond just marketing with content.
In CMI's latest research, the number of people who described their marketing efforts as content marketing actually declined — from 93 to 86 percent. At first glance, that stat was a bit startling, ...

That's it. I've been with Bluehost for a long time but EIG hosting companies appear to be having another major outage.

Just let me get in there long enough to get my control panels and change hosting companies.

Google Post Ads Now Available

I think Google+ post ads have huge potential. I think they key to success will be the ability to stimulate a great discussion which naturally leads to the desired conversion.

As mentioned in the comments of +Mike Allton's post below, the potential to place a G+ Hangout as an ad really takes it up a step. Looking forward to seeing how well this works in action.

How To Create Google +Post Ads

As you may have heard, Google opened up the +Post ad option to anyone with at least 1000 followers this week.

+Mark Traphagen explained that, “What’s different here is that Google is enabling social content ads that aren’t on the social platform. Instead of littering Google+ with ads (one of the unsung benefits of Google+ is that three years in its stream are still ad free), +Post ads are places where people expect to see ads: on websites that already have Google Display ads.”

So how do we get started? Many businesses are chomping at the bit to start experimenting with these new ads and working toward driving traffic and interest to their business and Google+ presence. So I've written up exactly how to do that. Using the guide below, you'll be able to create your first Campaign and +Post Ad.

We'll also go over the different ad sizes and types, and reveal a couple of new findings.

What questions do you have about +Post Ads? Will you consider using them for your own business? Does it help to know that you can use posts from a personal profile or a page?

+Al Remetch from what I can tell, the costs are exactly the same as normal AdWords campaigns and ads - so it will just depend on your target and the competition.

Bidding and Targeting work exactly the same as any other AdWords campaign.
