Kicking off the quarter with LEGOs, and getting paid to do it... that's the Remilon way! We did our first LEGO-based Scrum process training / team building event last week, and here's what we came up with.
In the course of 3 short sprints, just 7 minutes each, half the company estimated, planned, designed, built, tested and deployed the small LEGO town of Remilburg. Consisting of 7 houses, an elementary school, a bus station, a very large park and sufficient infrastructure, it's the seed of what could become a very prosperous locale.
During our first sprint none of the 4 teams completed the work they forecast they could complete, but after that (and some additional negotiation with the Product Owner) they kicked things into high gear, started working together, and started delivering. I've already referenced the event during our regular work meetings, and will likely continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
Next time I hope to involve the entire company and build out a bigger city with houses with a little more style which are less... (if I'm being generous) ... utilitarian!
