This recent blog post by A.J. Juliani, The Unlearning Cycle (why we learn and how it’s changing) clearly articulates some of the challenges we are facing in our Modern Learning environment. Well worth a read!

"Education needs to not only look to what the future is going to be in order to better teach and learn; but also look in the mirror to acknowledge the realities of our current learning environment. Let’s celebrate unlearning in our schools and classrooms, and find more ways to make relearning a daily practice that we support and promote."

By now, you’ve probably heard about Expeditions, Google’s immersive virtual reality platform that helps teachers bring their lessons to life. What you might not know is that, soon, Expeditions could be visiting your school!

To help launch this exciting new classroom addition, Expeditions teams will visit select schools around the world, starting with the United States, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Denmark, Signapore, and Canada.

The York Region District School Board has been selected as one of the first school Boards in Canada to participate in this exciting opportunity! Each Expedition team will bring a complete Expeditions kit with everything the teachers need to take their students on journeys to anywhere.

It would be great for your school to be one of the first schools Expeditions visits. If this sounds like something your school, teachers, and students would be interested in, please visit our Pioneer
Program site to learn more and register.

Sign up soon, because while we’d like to visit as many schools as possible, spaces are limited!
Best,
The Google Expeditions Team

I wanted to let everyone know that Read&Write for Google has been recently updated to included full French support. Check out the link to learn how to switch between languages. Thanks to Shaun O'Doherty for making!

If you're using Google Forms, you need this add-on

Organizing data and reports from your Google Forms submission without touching the original data just got a bit easier! EZ Query is a sheet add-on that makes it simple to use the Query function on your data. In a new sheet, you can create reports that you want - specific columns and filters based on the submission - that automatically updates as new submissions are added!

Hoping you can help!

My class is currently working on 20Time Projects.  One group is curious to know what makes people happy.  They are hoping people will take a minute to send a video or complete their Google Form (http://goo.gl/O1fKtR) about what makes YOU happy.

We would really appreciate your assistance and it should only take a minute.  Thank you!
