Love the classic car at 3:01. Same vintage as the observatory?

Nice capture. Oval BA is clearly visible.

Very nice. The last time we saw Venus like this we were getting ready for the Transit.

Thanks Jim! We also enjoyed the last transit, and it was exciting. The size was similar. Then compared to the Sun, now compared to the Moon

Thanks for the link. I've been looking for a working astrolabe for years.

At that speed you could play the the entire side in just 2 seconds. It would be fun to drop a needle on it and see what happens.

I'm a Canon guy but I see that the Nikon Df has some pretty good reviews and ratings at B & H.

That's great. They never show up nearly as well on camera as they do to the eye. Also something this dynamic makes for awesome time-lapse sequences. Too bad you didn't have a wide angle lens and a tripod.

John Davis is a great guy. He has come to our events an many occasions over the years, and I always look forward to chatting with him at Stellafane and at the pre-Stellafane workshops at the Hartness House.

+Jim Hendrickson That's another good one. I'd say you can keep calling it "Jim's Cassiopeia." Not many people know it by that anyway; I often hear it called the "Mini Cassiopeia" or "Little Cassiopeia" - not "Kemble 2."
