"Reuters) - The Church of England voted on Monday to allow women to become bishops, a historic decision which overturns centuries of tradition in a Church that has been deeply divided over the issue.

King Henry VIII must be rolling over in his grave

Especially because this change didn't require beheading any catholics.

I'm afraid that America's largest Protestant denomination, the Southern Baptist Convention, to this day rejects the idea that women can be qualified to serve as pastors:  "While both men and women are gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture."  The Baptist Faith and Message:  VI. The Church.

"As qualified by scripture"?  What about doing something "As qualified by common sense"?

Paul, Either you are a believer or you are not. The Church of England has drifted away from main stream Protestantism and I suppose that is OK, if that is what they want.

Why do we need mainstream Protestantism? Let's breakdown a few barriers and change our attitudes towards the Church. After
all, that's what Jesus himself was trying to do - or have we forgotten about Him completely?

Paul, What is it that you think Jesus was trying to do?

I'm so glad I am Catholic.  I pray that we never sway to this worlds influence, and keep the faith and tradition of the one true God of the bible.

Unfortunately the Catholic faith also includes doctrines from Tradition as well as from scripture.

Ron, who were you asking, and could you elaborate?

Ridiculous! Good for then. Keep it off of American shores.

The Latter-day Saint religion is pre-medieval, as it is the restoration of the original Church of Christ with His original teachings.
