Do you have concerning questions about your dog's behavior??

Our Friday night DogBehavior.TV has been a big success - especially the Live, Open Q&A format.

We move fast, answer questions and, if I can get to your question before the show ends, everyone has at least "one good, solid takeaway" they can use to improve their relationship with their dog -- Or I'll be a monkey's uncle! :-)

Come join us for a great time and some solid takeaways. Even if you just listen, you learn.

The best part of my job is teaching kids to train their dogs. With some instruction, she trained her dog to shut the door, identify books by name, go to place on couch and do basic obedience! What do you think?

Colorado dogs with anxiety issues apparently now have their own kind of Rocky Mountain High to ease their woes; although, just living there would go a long way to ease my woes!

With any dog problem I'm all for finding the root cause of the problem as a starting point and moving on from there. You would be surprised what can be done by improving the relationship between dog and owner.

What do you think? Chill him or fix him?

Keeper is getting conditioned to the BIKE very slowly - slow pace AND for very short periods of time. While this conditioning is taking place he's also learning the BIKE rules: 1. Stay on the left; 2. Never pull Dad off the BIKE.

Also during this conditioning time Keeper is learning to ignore distractions and focus on trotting beside the BIKE.

Keeper won't be ready for any sustained running until 12 months of age and with vet approval. So for now Keeper's conditioning is a great way to manage his abundance of energy constructively!

If you are not comfortable with managing your bike and your dog do not try this. It is a learned skill that requires focus on many things at the same time. I've been exercising my dogs like this for 20 years+.

So for now, exercise your dog in a way that's safe for you both!

Keeper spent Labrador Weekend practicing his very first dock diving jump.
Absolutely no fear! Could be a champion in time! He's only 7 months but would rather be in the water than anything else! This is an excellent way to burn energy. Meanwhile, back at the ranch: Nap time for Keeper and me - and Leila. How's that for a pic +Mary Hone?

Jumping is one of the most obnoxious behaviors and believe it or not, most people just put up with the behavior or put up their dog. As obnoxious as it is, it is surprisingly one of the easier dog problems to fix - given a little time and patience.

Check out my step-by-step process in our first HOA - you might find something that works for you. Let me know what you think..
