Tomorrow I will be deported from Mongolia. (Yes, really.) My deportation is amicable, and organized by Immigration so as to be helpful to me, but I get a cool stamp in my passport nevertheless.
More than that, tomorrow is a bittersweet day; an end to one of the most mind-expanding and challenging things I've ever undertaken. I can't help but be a bit sad.

What follows is a brief note-to-self of what exactly that undertaking comprised, and a thank you to those who have followed along.

Take care, and be good to one another,

Transglobalistas! This new video is a trailer I'll be using to (try to) drum up local interest in the rest of my journey. At the moment, I'm really happy with it. If THIS doesn't make you want to wander the Steppes of Mongolia, well, I give up.
If you like it, please help out my PR efforts here in Mongolia by sharing the video as widely as possible with friends and family--and directing them towards this page if they're FB inclined. If you know of any groups that might dig it, share away, or PM me with info and I'll submit as appropriate.
I'd also love some honest feedback from you guys; I cranked this out in a long, feverish afternoon and no longer have much perspective on it.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Thanks,
---moi

I've been in Mongolia for 15 days. But the real journey through the Mongol wilds--five months on a bicycle, traversing the country twice--begins tomorrow. Genghis, baby, I'm coming to meetcha!

A new post on the incredibly, beautifully weird music of "Legend"--a collaboration of The Bulgarian Voices and Mongolia's Huun-Huur-Tu. With a couple videos from Mongolia--featuring the aforementioned music.

Because Mongolia.

Some science behind my all-consuming lust for Indian food...
Taste is all about chemistry—the more flavor molecules ingredients have in common, the more likely they will be perceived as a delicious match. A recent study, however, indicates that Indian cuisine throws a wrench into our understanding of how food pairing works. #FutureofFood
