+Christopher Young got me an Aeropress for my birthday. It makes the best cup of coffee ever. Even with medium grade preground Trader Joe's coffee.

Yum.

National Ride of Silence is today, Seattle's ride starts at Gas Works Park #SEAbikes

Today is the National Ride of Silence. People who have lost loved ones in bike crashes and collisions (and anyone who wants to show solidarity) are invited to ride slowly and quietly together. It’s about making a statement about the safety of people on…

This is how I got a bunch of stuff from one library branch to another last night. I did end up adding one more strap over the top of the cooler to keep it in place.

My volunteer gig for the day, bike parking at the Ballard Farmers Market. Having fun seeing all the bikes. Provided by +Cascade Bicycle Club and sponsored by Second Ascent.

My cousin's bikes were stolen off his back deck in Pinehurst/Seattle over the weekend. Here's what he wrote on FB:

"Please keep an eye out for these bikes. 2014 Pivot Firebird and a 2008 Santa Cruz Blur lt. I replaced the red stickers on the Pivot with green ones. It also has a Thompson dropper post. The Blur has a bright blue anodized answer handle bar. They were stolen off my back deck sometime between Sunday night and Tuesday morning."

Looks like some Pinehurst neighbours have witnessed suspicious activities (i.e. someone carrying TWO bikes) in the last few days. Another bike has been reported stolen, too. I hope whoever's doing that gets caught rather soon.

ohhh. Missing the life onboard... Maybe I should find a room on a boat somewhere instead of living in an apt.

Story
Tagline
Public librarian, mother, biker and sailor.
Introduction
I've been a teen services librarian since 2006, with forays into instruction and service learning coordination and a solid foundation in reference and tech help.

I have a son who's now adult and my boyfriend has three lovely daughters who live with us half time.

I ride a bike for transportation most of the time. We have one car in our household and it's mostly used to move kids. I ride for recreation as well, although a recent increase in the length of my commute has made that less likely.

We live on a Vagabond 47, which is a ketch (two masted) sailboat. Liveaboard life is grand. I am looking forward to retirement so that I can read my books in a warmer climate.

Amazing burgers and beer selection. So far I've had the Mushroom Gruyere and Pablano Pepper burgers and both are excellent. I love the beer selection which boasts many of my favorite local breweries as well as a few from out of state. The fries and fry sauce are also wonderful. Try the chipotle mayo or the lemongrass tarter.

I love having the barking dog in my neighborhood. The food is consistently good, the service is great, and I love the beer selection. I hardly ever order cocktails anymore, but I watched the bartenders tonight and they are top notch. Thanks for a great evening.

Ugly building but great resource. My boyfriend says it has the best nautical collection he's seen. Lots of books and digital resources. It's a little hard to find, but totally worth looking for.

Great sushi. This is the real thing and quite a treat to find in Arlington. It can be really busy at times.
