Public librarian, mother, biker and sailor.
Introduction
I've been a teen services librarian since 2006, with forays into instruction and service learning coordination and a solid foundation in reference and tech help.

I have a son who's now adult and my boyfriend has three lovely daughters who live with us half time.

I ride a bike for transportation most of the time. We have one car in our household and it's mostly used to move kids. I ride for recreation as well, although a recent increase in the length of my commute has made that less likely.

We live on a Vagabond 47, which is a ketch (two masted) sailboat. Liveaboard life is grand. I am looking forward to retirement so that I can read my books in a warmer climate.

ohhh. Missing the life onboard... Maybe I should find a room on a boat somewhere instead of living in an apt.

#BaltimoreRiots is blowing up on Twitter. So many points of view. What will we think about this in 20 years?

National Guard activated in response to Baltimore unrest

Maryland Gov. Hogan has declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard as clashes between protesters and police continue in Baltimore. At least seven officers have been seriously injured and one is unconscious after demonstrators threw rocks and bricks. The Baltimore Orioles' game has been postponed and local stores have closed down.
The latest breaking news on Baltimore man dies after arrest, April 2015 from hundreds of sources, all in one place.

Louisville is much smaller and had 54 murders in 2014.  We had 15 in the first two months of this year.

We also had a mini-riot last year.  It was mostly teenagers assaulting people.  Nothing burned.

I never liked Bud anyway, but now I hate it.
Bud Light continues to creep people out with the implied lechery of its "up for whatever" marketing campaign. The latest apparent gaffe from the country's most popular watery beer is a tagline remi...

I am tired of the ever increasing number of so-called "bike safety" products. Especially when everyday I share the road with drivers like this. There needs to be a spray for them.   A product ...

Amazing burgers and beer selection. So far I've had the Mushroom Gruyere and Pablano Pepper burgers and both are excellent. I love the beer selection which boasts many of my favorite local breweries as well as a few from out of state. The fries and fry sauce are also wonderful. Try the chipotle mayo or the lemongrass tarter.

I love having the barking dog in my neighborhood. The food is consistently good, the service is great, and I love the beer selection. I hardly ever order cocktails anymore, but I watched the bartenders tonight and they are top notch. Thanks for a great evening.

Ugly building but great resource. My boyfriend says it has the best nautical collection he's seen. Lots of books and digital resources. It's a little hard to find, but totally worth looking for.

Great sushi. This is the real thing and quite a treat to find in Arlington. It can be really busy at times.
