If you say you’re going to do something, DO IT! If you say you’re going to be somewhere, BE THERE! If you say you feel something, MEAN IT! If you can’t, won’t, and don’t, then DON’T LIE. It’s always better to tell people the truth up front. Don’t play games with people’s heads and hearts. Don’t tell half-truths and expect people to trust you when the full truth comes out; half-truths are no better than lies. - via: http://www.marcandangel.com/2012/04/23/15-things-real-friends-do-differently/

Digital Marketing And Analytics: Two Ladders For Magnificent Success

My new post contains two lessons from my personal spectacular successes and glorious failures. It shares specific guidance to correct a major flaw in our digital strategies: We try to do to much, and in the wrong order!

The post has two "ladders," one for digital marketing and the other for digital analytics. I recommend what you need to do, step-by-each-well-thought-through-step, I make hard choices on your behalf. The post, per usual, share many specific examples of what to do in each step and companies you can emulate.

Revolutions are sexy, but in reality evolution works magnificently when it comes to digital (even if you are a big rich company with unlimited resources).

Learn how to pause your current strategy, and build one that actually works and will deliver customer delight and shareholder value for your company: http://goo.gl/M9Mh3v

The blog post also has a "ladder" for digital analytics, one below is just for digital marketing.

Please share your comments, critique and wisdom on the post itself. Gracias.

The Biggest Mistake You’re Making On Twitter

There’s one big mistake you could be making with your Twitter strategy that may be causing you to miss hundreds, if not thousands, of potential views, clicks, and other engagement opportunities. So, what’s this big Twitter mistake? Your @ (mention) sign has been in the wrong place in your Tweets! So simple, yet so potentially detrimental to your social strategy if you didn’t know about this before.

If your tweets start with an “@” sign, only the Twitter users who follow both you and the user(s) you are tweeting will see the tweet.  You can fix this in one of two ways. First, you can add a period (or other symbol) before the “@” sign, or you can move around your content. See attached image for examples.

Hopefully we’ve helped you avoid missing Twitter engagement opportunities with this quick and easy tip. Remember, if you want your Twitter conversation with a user to only be seen by followers of both you and that user, continue tweeting with the “@” sign first. However, if you want your conversations to be seen by all of your followers and others on Twitter, make sure you include something before that mention symbol.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Futon Store & More in Memphis. The owner, Laura Arnovitz, personally helped me find the bed of my dreams. I went years sleeping on a horrible bed and intended to find a futon for guest. Laura patiently showed me futons and I just "tested" the mattresses (that I didn't even know they had) and.... well... fell in love! The staff are great. Not your average furniture store! They have furniture, artwork, futons, pillows and more! Great deals...shall I go on? They are great! Thanks Laura!
