Deena Neimat, founder of Little Voices Are Loud, for this week's The Voice-Tribune cover story. Neimat's company partners with nonprofits, selling "changemaker" packages that teach children about global issues and start conversations about peace, the environment, and equality. So glad to have met her and to see people making a positive impact here in Louisville. https://voice-tribune.com/news/cover-story/little-voices-big-impacts/

Was unintentionally early for #NationalTacoDay with last night’s dinner - black bean and carrot crispy tacos based on a recipe from +Country Living. Super simple and fresh - and also a great vegan option.

I photographed a Kentucky Bourbon cocktail book, and now, it's out in the wild. Yay! Look for a copy at your local bookstore, and those bourbon enthusiasts outside the Commonwealth can find it on Amazon. Cheers!

Our beautiful city stopped everything today to honor Muhammad Ali Friday, whose contributions I'm only really beginning to understand. It was incredibly moving to see the thousands pay tribute; to hear them tell his family "we love you" as they passed in the procession. Wonderful day to be a Louisvillian.

Recent work for The Wall Street Journal, published today: http://www.wsj.com/…/cdc-identifies-counties-at-risk-of-hiv…

I photographed people in Austin, Indiana, a rural town that saw an HIV outbreak tied to IV drug injection last year. In Austin, while there are some success stories, the underlying addiction that fueled the outbreak persists mostly unabated. The CDC has recently identified more than 200 U.S. counties that are at risk for similar outbreaks due to drug abuse.

Las Vegas sports bettor Billy Walters, Las Vegas, 2011.
Walters was arrested on federal conspiracy and securities fraud charges last week, the result of a long FBI investigation that also implicated pro golfer Phil Mickelson and the former chairman of Dean Foods.

I made this portrait of him quickly after he met and discussed some of his then-recent business dealings with the editorial board of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, where I was a staff photographer. This picture has been used in publications all over the country this week, including the Times and the Wall Street Journal.

Walters, the most successful sports bettor of all time (and a multimillionaire many times over because of that success), has been under investigation by authorities for decades but has come up clean until now.

It’s always so interesting to see my photographs find new life and context years after they were made.

Had fun setting up a mobile studio this week at Gazelle, a web-based retailer whose processing facility is in Louisville, to shoot used consumer tech for a story on anti-consumerism in today's New York Times http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/28/technology/personaltech/taking-the-stigma-out-of-buying-usedelectronics.html
