Hey Ms. Brillhart,
You mentioned that the jump rig automatically stitches its videos together during your presentation at i/o (which was fascinating by the way). Is there anything published about how it actually does this?

I would be interested to know what sort of technology enables such a high level of video stitching for stereoscopy, but haven't been able to find any on the google research blog.

Thanks!

I am a runner. I love the sport, and I love this event. But this was a good call. When this event actually happens, it will be glorious in the way it ought to be.

There may come a time where this kind of insightfulness will perish with those who bravely went and landed there. #winkatthemoon

Couldn't be prouder of +Aaron Koblin and the Data Arts Team for this one. Hits close to home (literally and figuratively).

The coolest visualization of the Milky Way I've ever seen

Okay, take a few minutes (or hours) and explore this amazing 3-D visualization of the Milky Way, including 100,000 stars. It was created by some folks at Google - a demonstration of what's possible within the Chrome browser.

Enjoy, explore, don't blame me if you get lost in the Milky Way.

David Byrne with a swing in his step and a sparkle in his eye? Ah, because he's got an amazingly gorgeous and talented collaborator by his side on this project. Can't wait for the full album. (Video's pretty great, too.)

"So as we proceed to this room it's, um, it's a large room with a...pool in the middle or a hot tub or something...and a button. Is that the jets or something? Nope. [presses button] Uh oh, that's not what water does. Put it back! Something is wrong here."

Haha - "I want this one, it's cheapest." I was just trying (and failing) to play this on iPad the other day.

The closest I've found to the perfect restaurant. Great food, cocktails, ambiance, service. Nothing beats having a warm dinner and a whiskey with a comforting glow around you and a friendly hug goodbye when you leave.

They have great cocktails as well as "New American" fare with fresh ingredients. You can tell they care about their food stuffs. A bit pricey though.

I cannot recommend this place enough - it's exactly what I was hoping we'd fine on our trip. The best cheese plate in the world. The best (house!) wine in the world. Great host (sure, why not, in the world!). Quaint size with a rustic cafe feel. Ordered too much! But would definitely go back. Absolutely great time.

It's been a while since I've been there - but I remember it having great cocktails and a seriously great burger (blue cheese and bacon FTW).

Don't be alarmed, Americans! The Holiday Inn here is beautiful - great bar, food area, room design is fantastic. Very close to the train station.
