Eagerly announcing the release of Phantasmical Contraptions & Other Errors! This one's been a slog so that we could get it done in time for Gothenburg SteamCon (www.facebook.com/events/632585113547185/), but we all worked hard and this anthology is chock-full of fantastic steampunk-themed stories to delight your Victorian alternate universe senses.
I would especially like to thank Lukas Thelin (www.facebook.com/lukas.thelin) and Åskfågeln (www.facebook.com/askfageln/) for the amazing cover art.
You can find Phantasmical Contraptions on Amazon in the US here (http://amzn.com/1539450821) and the UK here (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1539450821). The Kindle and paperback versions are both available, but Amazon may not yet have linked them, so you may need to search for the title to find the version you're looking for.
We hope you enjoy it, and if you do, please please please leave an Amazon review! (Also, please like and share this post!)

Looming deadline! :D
October 3rd is the deadline for submitting to the Phantasmical Contraptions & Other Errors anthology. Note that the scope is not limited to 1890s Victorian AU England only. Dieselpunk, fantasy elements, other colonies, American Revolution to WWII, all of these things will be considered. If you've got something you think remotely fits the bill, or could with just a few tweaks, including reprints, please feel free to submit!

This is the second short story collection with edited by +Jessica Augustsson that I have read, the first being Other days. Just like in that the stories are made by multiple authors that has one or two stories in it.

One of my favourite authors in collection is +Johannes Svensson, which was a relief since he's a friend. His first one felt like a classical sf in style of Harrison. Humans stepping proudly out into the universe and dodo. The second was a lovely story where treating fantastic happenings as mundane gave the story a great feel.

Melissa Swanepoel was my favourite author in Other days and is one of my favourite here as well with "Variations" that feels like a variation of "A thousand and one night".

"Klein closet" is another of my favourite stories but I can't say why without giving away the end.

The one liked the least was "The Kiln". It is a continuation of "The Potter". The Potter was ok but I didn't feel like The kiln added anything. I felt like the two could have been combined and that would have made the things happening in the kiln feel more interesting. As a stand alone though to me it was just trying to shock me without adding value.

In conclusion, I liked most of the stories and there's probably a couple of more I should have mentioned that I didn't. I really enjoyed the book and if I only manage to remember I'll most likely buy the third in the series when it comes out sometime after new year (if I recall correctly)
