Writing is how we walk each other home through stories and art. We’re on the edge of a huge shift in consciousness and we must create the new world in which to live. Writing is one way to make in impact with our future. Here’s why:

I keep waiting until I’ll feel like myself again. The reference points of my identity got stripped when I let go of all of my possessions and moved to California. I’m now trying to find a home in a new state that beats with a pulse that isn’t mine. I can still feel the echoes of my East coast self. And I don’t know if I should silence the sound or see through its subtext. In a house of mirrors, reflection isn’t always what I want to see.

But I still stare.

The Pacific has an essence that is nothing like the Atlantic. It’s colder and I haven’t yet warmed up to its many moods. I’m learning how to ease into its icy grip. I step barefoot into a wave and it feels like home. I’m trying to make a home out of waves these days.

It’s not an easy process, but here are some thoughts that help to get me through:

I wrote a new post:

I spent the past year packing suitcases that led me to new countries and friends, while unpacking parts of my identity that needed to go, searching for signs that I belong. And here’s what I now. I fell in love when I knew I could use my past to grow. You can end the year with purpose without being in a particular place if you can break apart with Grace (the word I chose for both 2015 and 2016). This blog is my home: where I put my thoughts and ideas together more than anywhere in the world.

I’ve been reading and thinking. Traveling the world and moving across the country. Writing and reading. Singing and dancing. Crying and laughing. I’ve been living. And even though I’m no content guru, I know that one way to wake up is to show up. So after some time away, I am here now. What I know is that if you can look within yourself in a world that tells you to look away, you can skyrocket your brand to success – whatever that version of “success” means to you.

Here’s the long version of this post (and my pup):

What could I possibly know about this concept that didn't exist two seconds before I typed it: content guru. And then I remind myself that true joy exists in the release of not knowing what's next.

It's not easy.

We spend years upon years planning our future, masking our true beliefs, and stuffing our emotions with trivial things that it becomes difficult to know what we truly want in the moment...this moment...like why we want to be a content guru in the first place.

How is a savvy content marketer supposed to flit and flutter through the fake to fearlessly build a fanatical audience?

The word “peak” is defined as either the pointed top of a mountain or to “reach its height, climax, come to a head.” but when followed with “experience” it becomes the term “peak experience,” which is defined as:

“a rare, exciting, oceanic, deeply moving, exhilarating, elevating experiences that generate an advanced form of perceiving reality, and are even mystic and magical in their effect upon the experimenter.”

Why is this important when it comes to content?
