This year at Coachella, a lot of the EDM is coming from unlikely sources, or at least from artists that aren’t named Skrillex, Zedd, or Dillon Francis. While heavyweights like Kaskade and two-thirds of Swedish House Mafia are returning, some of the other acts rounding out the bill are putting on career-defining live productions or are simply visiting the desert for the first time.

For many people that head to Coachella every year, there is one off-the-beaten path destination that is a must-see: the DoLab. The L.A.-based collaborative brings dozens of excellent (and usually underground) artists to the forefront with a great sound system and plenty of water

Heavy Metal is, in a word, diverse. Both in sound and appreciation, no genre of music (or any other art form) spans the same level of geography and population. The parking lot is all one needs to see to understand this fact. Dressed in black with their favorite pair of ragged jeans, fans are here to see, not to be seen.

While it has been months since Band of Horses has played a real rock and roll show, The Observatory was blessed with their return to glory on Wednesday night.

Nearly ten years ago today, Death From Above 1979 put out what would become one of the most important albums of the early century. You’re A Woman, I’m A Machine transcended genres, causing punks and rockers to reconcile their conflicts and drink some tall-boys in the parking lot while blaring the 35-minute modern classic.

Every year, when the Coachella poster comes out and fans gawk at who made the cut, the big names always dominate the conversation. But the smaller names, the one that promoters can cram along the bottom in type -3 font, those are the interesting acts. There you find the hungry bands, the up-and-comers, the bands with one shot to gain ground in the industry and win over potentially dozens of thousands of fans in a single set.

Coachella is less than a week away and while the lineup is stellar, the weather looks to be cooperative, and the new bathrooms have fans giddy, there are still a few big questions lingering. While the festival has been nearly 20 years in the making, every year brings its own list of challenges and quandaries.

Check out the list for the top 10 questions of the year and feel free to chime in with your answer for each one!

The poster is out, the lineup is set, and this year's edition of the Lightning in a Bottle music festival looks to be the best one yet, with headliner Flume taking center stage on the bill.

It wouldn't be Halloween in Southern California if HARD wasn't hosting another stacked music festival.
