Two prominent artists of the folk music scenes in their respective states join forces for an evening of soulful singing and harmonious whistle-playing, as they showcase their foresty new albums at The Green Owl.

Materialising on stage in a vibrant, passionate flourish of purple bohemianism, Tasmanian troubadour Jesse McCormack showcases his signature style of “Swedish-infused acoustic Celtic folk-rock” utilising a small arsenal of eclectic instruments and a voice that's been known to reduce grown men to tears and rowdy pubs to awed silence.

Sarah Calderwood is a multi award-nominated singer-songwriter who writes about love, loss, not fitting in, vanilla cities, chocolate crushes, redemption, salvation, heartache, heartbreak, happiness, and Anne Boleyn.

He'll present a generous selection of songs from his new album 'Enchanted Forest', a fantasy/history-themed project which evokes imaginings of mythological creatures dancing between the trees, as well as highlights from his debut album 'The Day Before the Fair' and tributes to his musical heroes.

After impressing venue regulars at his first appearance there in July last year, Jesse returns to the intimate but electrifying atmosphere of The Dock in Redfern. You might as well bring all your friends, 'cause you'll practically be hugging your fellow audience members...

Heralded as "the last bastion of civilisation on King Street", Parliament on King is a cosy cafe/artists' hub/"readers' and thinkers' space" perfectly aligned with Jesse's bohemian vibes and serving as the venue for the second half of his album launch activities in Sydney.

The event will take place in the charming indoor dining area of Marakoopa Café, nestled in the foothills of the Great Western Tiers and a short drive from Mole Creek. Jesse will be joined by members of local ensemble String Theory to showcase some of the string trio arrangements from the album.
