Microsoft has, ever since, mistakenly used 'Unicode' and 'widechar' as synonyms for 'UCS-2' and 'UTF-16'. Furthermore, since UTF-8 cannot be set as the encoding for narrow string WinAPI, one must compile her code with _UNICODE rather than _MBCS . Windows C++ programmers are educated that Unicode ...

Dinosaurs really had feathers, and we've found them, trapped in amber!
Prehistoric dinosaur and bird feathers, perfectly preserved in amber, are shedding light on the evolution of feather form and function.

When you are young, you have time, but no money; when you are old, you have money, but no time.

Focus on things you have to do that don't take much time or much money. Breathing is a good start. :-D

Back home from holiday in Croatia.

A friend has a summer house on the island Krk there. The Adriatic sea is beautiful and the weather was warm and sunny. We also hired a sailing boat and sailed near the islands Hvar and Brač for a week.

I didn't drive the whole 1450 km home in one day; I stayed in a hotel near Frankfurt am Main in Germany yesterday.

Back to work tomorrow!
