Google Classroom  -

I have one issue in my school preventing widespread adoption of Google Classroom school-wide. Teachers want to be able to annotate a PDF document turned in by a student, then return it with those annotation still in place. Does anyone have any ideas or workarounds that make this possible?

These are great work arounds, but maybe I missed something. Why are you using .pdfs? Starting with a Google Doc shared with the teacher and the teacher being given commenting and editing rights would greatly simplify the process - no work arounds required.

Virtual Field Trips (VFT)  -

Good morning Connected Classrooms Workshop! I'd like to invite you to join Inverness Middle School, in Inverness, FL, in their conversation with Holocaust survivor Gene Klein on Friday, November 13 at 8 AM EST. We'll be broadcasting live via a Google Hangout on Air

“Holocaust survivors like me are dying, but you can protect our memories.  If more of us survivors speak about our experiences, then that has a lot more weight than seeing a movie or reading a book. People learn from our stories. I want to make sure this [Holocaust] doesn't happen again. It has been 70 years since I was liberated from a Nazi concentration camp. I was just a teenager then; I’m 87 now."

Gene was born in 1928 in Czechoslovakia (born Gabor Klein). In 1944, at the age of 16, he was deported with his family to Auschwitz Concentration Camp and then transferred to a slave labor camp in German-occupied Poland. He survived Auschwitz and several forced labor camps, including Wolfsberg, and a death march before being liberated by the Russians.

Gene’s complete story was told by his daughter Dr. Jill Klein in the book “We Got the Water,” which is available for purchase.

He has a Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/Gene-Klein-Holocaust-Survivor-3810289087
This Hangout On Air is hosted by Jerry Swiatek. The live video broadcast will begin soon.

Google Classroom ( the service)  -

Google Classroom separated the "Add" and "Create" icons. This will make things much less confusing for the kids.
