Thanks Garrett.  I got mine and will be assembling soon.  Good to have a video showing assembly by someone who has been through it many times.  "Design for Manufacture" is probably up there on your list now.

Want to help?  SpaceGAMBIT.org has a federal grant to encourage makerspaces to get involved with space activities.  This round we are collaborating with NASA promoting the Asteroid Grand Challenge... especially edu-tainment projects to educate people, and get them involved in Citizen Science.
A bus-sized asteroid passed by the Earth at a distance closer than the moon Saturday — but the more disconcerting part is how little warning astronomers had of the event. Scientists learned of the 25-foot asteroid named 2014...

NASA's Asteroid Grand Challenge seeks to find all the asteroids that threaten human populations and know how to deal with them.   SpaceGAMBIT.org has funding for small projects NOW to get the word out.   We need to get people working ASAP.  Money will be gone soon - use it or lose it!
SpaceGAMBIT is an open-source, hackerspace space program. We believe in building humanity into a spacefaring civilization, and we see collaboration and the maker movement as a way to get there. We are launching our second round of project funding with … Continue reading →

SpaceGAMBIT has its 2014 Call for Projects up.   We are looking for ideas from makerspaces (and ilk) related to the  NASA Asteroid Grand Challenge.  Check it out ... we are quite willing to talk to people about their ideas and help shape proposals.  Note that contracts may be let on a rolling basis - if we really like an idea it may get funded before the May close.   And since we need projects COMPLETED by the end of August, this gives you more time.

Looking for alternatives to Google Calendar.
Apparently they added Birthdays to the list and while you can turn it off, it keeps coming back on, and you cannot Remove it.  Alternative seems to be deleting G+ account.

Jerry  you can go to your Google + profile and remove your birthdate  and make it shared with just you   I never put my birthdate into my profile so they cannot put it in the calendar. My friends already know it. I'm very careful of sharing too much information publicly on line  FTF I'll give anyone some information.  It's sort of funny that the doctors offices here still use Win XP thin clients in the office.

ACE Hardware has these cool laser cut kits for their "Hardware Science" series.  I found out yesterday the program apparently started with the Maui ACE hardware stores and Corporate has since picked it up.
