Goodbye Texas... Loved your 23 degrees celcius temperatures, and girls in short skirts..
Back to cold, rainy and windy Netherlands...
sigh... At least I'll be able to smoke my 'vegetables' once more :-)

Show this to your kids, and have them explain encryption nowadays to their grandparents... :)
It’s December 25th, which means most of you are probably at home visiting with family. I asked a few of the security engineers here at CloudFlare how they explain their jobs when they’re home for the holidays, and...

Check out the awesome book "A field of virgins", written by my good friend Ian K. Devey.

Arriving in a harsh lawless world populated by drug smugglers and sex workers Herby and Gus, two young Westerners, are confronted by the realities of the Thai underworld as they try to beat the odds and make their fortune.

Very funny dairy on playing #Fallout4  as Michael Palin with perma-death, start without any items/weapons/etc..
start reading below of the page :)
Continuing a perma-death diary in Fallout 4, in which I begin with absolutely nothing other than a plan to to voyage around only the outermost periphery of the world. Michael Radiatin'? More like Michael Radiated. Read the rest of this entry » · Bethesda, Diary, Fallout 4, falloutdiary, feature.

Sounds like the #MATE  guys have done a good job for the PI... :)
can't wait to get some more SD cards and have a go at it...
The faster and more powerful Raspberry Pi 2 makes it possible to run more and different operating systems than with earlier versions. Here is my first-hand experience loading and running Ubuntu MATE on the Pi.

Sometimes you need to know what the temperature in the server room is.... so whipped out some UPS sensors, and took a picture.. Voila, one map of where the sensors are.
The outside temperature (the little cloud :) is done with a oneliner, which gets it from yahoo rss feed for Leiden, The Netherlands.

I setup an HVAC and soil moisture monitoring system as well as automated watering system based on rpi b+'s and arduino nanos :P It's not hard at all, but it can be a bit time consuming. The sensors themselves are incredibly cheap, but I find ebay/adafruit/spark are better sources for sensors then kickstarter tbh. If you are looking for some super reliable units you can also go grab from atlas scientific, they have a series of liquid sensing units so far that are expensive, but designed specifically with small ARM microcontrollers in mind, and they are way more reliable then anything you will get from a prototyping store/ebay supplier (though the DHT22/23 temp/humid sensors and HC01 ultrasonic sensors I find to be pretty sturdy regardless the manufacturer).

For more fun I was working on a console emulator for pre 2000 series consoles (the rpi 2.0 can handle everything up to n64 pretty easily... ps1 is starting to push it though). check out retropie if your interested in that :). Have also seen some interesting projects in the way of beer/wine brewing with pi controlling the system.

My new R9 380... since my 6870 was suddenly declared under 'legacy' support (and had a very noisy fan by now), I had to get something new...
Can't wait to hook it up and get some gaming done :-)
