I dig shooting dancers, they are so incredible!
Hey guys, A couple of weeks back I was lucky enough to work with Toney Wilson and his crew on his latest project. It was taking place in a nice intimate theater in Venice Beach. I got hired to shoot the entire day while another person was here shooting the video reel. I was simply surrounded by talent and it felt great. Beautiful dancers, amazing choreographies and beautiful lights made for great shots, here are my favorites fr...

simple trick to fix pet's eyes in photoshop
Hey guys, I posted a picture of our little foster dog the other day when she got adopted. I was in a rush so my wife and I took it with our smartphone and it looked like this after doing a bit of research on how to fix these diabolic eyes, I found that most tutorials and even the red eye fixing tools simply paint the pupils black and add a catch light with a white paint brush, that would make it look like this: I thought tha...

Now the more advanced way to remove people from your travel shots
Hey guys, As promised here is the other way (actually one other way there are others) to removed undesired tourists from your vacation shots. For that you are going to have to use a bit of photoshop. I am not going to go to much into the details as you can learn more about it here (the video is very interesting but if you want to see just the part about tourist removal you can jump to 49 min) But the idea is to take a series of ...

Pretty happy with the results of this composite, thanks +Phlearn .com  for all the tips it really helped me put this together!
Hey guys, after working on it for a while I am finally able to let your have a look at my latest project. My friend Steven, is a talented writer and asked me to shoot him (he is also a pretty handsome and muscular dude) as a gladiator. I'll post soon a video explaining how i put the whole thing together because I think it could be interesting to share the story, but in the meantime here is the final result (as usual click on it t...

Remember this picture, the little sister is just around the corner ;)
Hey everyone, today I want to share a little tip for when you are taking pictures on location: If the location is nice (and that's often the case when you travel) then KEEP SHOOTING. Last week I posted this photo of a sunset in Malibu When I saw it on the back of my camera I could just have stopped there and thing "Yep, I got it" But I stayed a little bit longer, I moved and kept shooting for a while. And finally I got this...

Yesterday's sunset was not an amazing one but I'm still glad I went out.
Hi guys, yesterday evening I decided to not let my lazy self control me. I took my motorcycle and I went to Point Dume (Malibu) to photograph the sunset. It's about 40 miles from my place, so it was quite a long ride. In many ways I am glad i did it, I got to ride my bike in a very nice canyon which is always cool. I got to spend some time outside at the beach and I got some neat photos (despite the sunset not being amazing that day...

Night photography is fun, but it's also really hard, could this be related ? ;)
Hey there, Hard to be back at work after a long 4th of July week, that's the least to say. But the cool thing is hat this prolonged week end gave me time to go camping in Los Padres National Park with friends for a few days.  The great thing about this park is that the light pollution is very minimal there, so i got to see some pretty cool stars. Here are my first tests in night sky photography. (click on them to see them bigge...

experimenting with black and white is always fun
Hola amigos, today I am going to talk about my explorations when post processing photos. I took this one in Mexico in Monte Alban near Oaxaca. These ruins are really impressive but unfortunately I could not get there under perfect lighting conditions. Since it was june and this is the rainy season, I got a lot of clouds. It's not necessary a bad thing as I immediatly thought it would look good in black and white. Now black and...

ever wondering how to remove tourists from your shots without photoshop?
Hello everyone, today I am going to share a little tip with you. You know what separates a good monument photo from a snapshot that anybody can take? Tourists! Generally the photos that poeple love from famous locations appear almost toursit free... which of course is either very (very very...) difficult or even impossible. So what can you do? In this post I am going to share the easy tip, in the next one we'll go over a more ...
