Very nice report about the current state of biking infrastructure in northern Santa Clara County (Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Los Altos), along with a vision for how the area could be so much better for bicyclists of all abilities and comfort levels. I especially like the North County as Copenhagen vision laid out starting on p. 24 of this PDF:

I'm very happy Google commissioned this study, and I hope the city governments actually implement this.

Happy Easter!

The "Lamb of God" is an Easter oratorio about Jesus Christ. I am playing in an orchestra accompanying the Temple Hill Choir. We have two more performances, one at the LDS temple in Oakland on the 20th and one at St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco on the 27th.

Tickets are free, but required. You can get them at this website:

If you come, make sure to say hi. I'll be sitting in the violin section.

Many people forget that if their account gets hijacked, there's no way for Google to reset the password unless we have a secure way to tell it's really them, not an attacker.  Easy to fix, but you gotta do it.

Are there any other parts of me that are still patent-encumbered?

I liked this article. Of course, the author seems to have the mistaken impression that non-cyclists used to look at cyclists the same way they look at members of the Hell's Angels:

"The cyclist as renegade, outsider, maverick, or outlaw – that has been the image"

Other than that, a lot of good points about why we cyclists need to obey traffic laws.
