Happy Easter!

The "Lamb of God" is an Easter oratorio about Jesus Christ. I am playing in an orchestra accompanying the Temple Hill Choir. We have two more performances, one at the LDS temple in Oakland on the 20th and one at St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco on the 27th.

Tickets are free, but required. You can get them at this website:

http://www.templehillevents.com/lamb-of-god.html

If you come, make sure to say hi. I'll be sitting in the violin section.

Are there any other parts of me that are still patent-encumbered?
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that human genes cannot be patented, a victory for cancer patients and their doctors who had challenged a Utah company’s exclusive control over a defective gene sequence that is linked to cancer.

I liked this article. Of course, the author seems to have the mistaken impression that non-cyclists used to look at cyclists the same way they look at members of the Hell's Angels:

"The cyclist as renegade, outsider, maverick, or outlaw – that has been the image"

Other than that, a lot of good points about why we cyclists need to obey traffic laws.

Volgograd Panorama Musem:

This building was just about the only structure left "standing" at the end of the Battle of Stalingrad in WW2. Next to it is the Panorama Museum, which has artifacts and normal museum exhibits on the main floor, and a huge panoramic painting on the top floor.

Volgograd has many museums, monuments and artifacts from WW2, but this museum is my favorite.

Salt Lake City? That's more like it.
The future of Fiber. As the web has gotten faster, it has also gotten more useful — activities like streaming movies, storing files online, video chatting and more were all enabled by broadband connections over a decade ago, and the next chapter of the web will run on even faster speeds.

Believe me from working in a data center with a 10 gig connection, the things that take even a few seconds to load are just there the second you open the page. Fastest browsing experience ever.

The real point behind this though is to 1) not only catching up with how miserably behind the rest of the world we are from broadband speed and price but 2) pave the way for next generation of communication technology and applications.

This is Google's vision, they see that there is so much that we could potentially do with the internet if we just had better, faster, cheaper access to all that it is and does.

Many people forget that if their account gets hijacked, there's no way for Google to reset the password unless we have a secure way to tell it's really them, not an attacker.  Easy to fix, but you gotta do it.

I had a friend get his gmail account hacked today.  it was only hacked for 20 minutes, but in that time the guy sent a phishing scam to all his contacts and then deleted all his contacts so when he got his account back he had to figure out how to restore his contacts before he could send them an email telling them about the hack.  Now he (and his wife, and me for that matter) use the 2-step verification.

For all of my Utah friends, brand new Street View imagery in most of the state (except Cache Valley, sadly). It looks much better than the old imagery.

So, we've spotted the Google Street View car driving around Cache Valley lately, including Hyde Park, Logan and Providence. After reading your post, I now know why.

Pushkinskaya Ulitsa in Rostov is one of my favorite streets. Much of it is pedestrian only, so it was my favorite way to go home.
