After finding the Digital Camera that I wanted to gift was available for At-Store pick-up according to the Best Buy website, I purchased it on their website. Later I got an email saying it wasn't really available, and they were "very sorry." The next two hours of being on the phone was a waste of my time and further frustrated me. The audacity of placing a hold on my funds for something they were supposed to have available for me is outrageous. They are holding onto my money for 7 days until 12/29 for no damn reason!!! First off, they should have had the website updated to reflect that they were out of the product. There is absolutely no reason that I should have been hung up on conveniently during transfers THREE TIMES! All they need to do is fax my bank something saying that the order was cancelled and that the hold can be removed and it's taken two hours.
Introducing a new book by with Bennett Hymer, editor, by Mutual Publishing of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Over 300 vintage photographs, 65 historical vignettes, 12 select subject mini-timelines, 20 Eyewitness Accounts and Moments in History, and over 1,640 facts, events, and personages present Hawai‘i’s story from Polynesian settlement to the present.
All of the major transitions in Hawai‘i’s history are detailed—unification of the islands, the establishment of the monarchy and its overthrow, the development of the plantation economy, Territorial days, statehood and beyond up to present day 2013.
The chronological organization enables easy access and browsing and provides a sweeping, unparalleled look at Hawai‘i’s dramatic evolution from Polynesian colonization to modern urbanization. The nostalgic photos give illustrative perspective to notable events, personages, and times gone by.
Over ten years in preparation, Timeline Hawai‘i is not just a valuable historical reference, but a photo album of the people, places, and events that shaped Hawai‘i into the international destination it is today.
A detailed index makes it easy for students, history buffs, and the simply curious to quickly find their subject of interest. Timeline Hawai‘i can easily be picked up and read and viewed randomly.
This first chronological history of the islands is a highly informative introduction to Hawai‘i’s past.

I am an LGBTIQ (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, and asexual) rights advocate and supporter who resides in Hawaii. I believe in equality. Equal marriage rights, full and complete without a different name. Equality does not mean almost the same. It means the same and I believe the longer that we permit inequality to dominate our culture we can expect to continue to see tragedy in our communities at every level.
I was born and raised in Kansas. An only child, my parents and I started our family adventure in Western Kansas, in the middle of nowhere. I was young and have just a few memories of our first homes in Garden City and Colby Kansas.
When I was entering first grade we moved to a more populated area, McPherson Kansas where I completed high school and immediately to Lawrence Kansas, an Oasis of blue in an Ocean of red, politically speaking.
I began my career at 1-800-MEDICARE and I now work at a non-profit health insurer.
I am not a fan of the forty-hour work-week and more closely identify with countries that have 6-8 weeks minimum of vacation time a year, as I appreciate their culture and their state-heads understanding that life is more than working at a job even if you do enjoy what you do. Vacation is not a four-letter word.
I often hike and snorkel and I take pictures while doing so. I enjoy sharing my photos and appreciate people taking the time to give me feedback.
Watching technology mature has been fascinating. I saved my paper route money and bought my first computer when I was 14. 286 MHz processor, 40 meg hard drive, 16 color monitor. I'm not a programmer, though I tried - it is not the type of work I want to do enough to dealing with frustration while learning it... I am an avid app user and PC user, building my own system, etc.
Playing video games is awesome! I've played my share of video games, starting with a little bit of atari, but my first console was the NES. Mario, duckhunt, spy hunter, metroid, kid icarus, mega man, castlevania, mortal kobat and on and on. Golden eye!
PC games I've enjoyed starting with oldies to newer titles include:, Myst, Command & Conquer, age of empires, unreal, unreal tournament, UT2K3 and 4. Alias = Aligherio. excellent FPS game! My favorite rules were 135% (or greater) gamespeed, instagib, low grav. 5v5. I had a clan and an excellent server and all that jazz, and wayyy too much free time.
I was recently playing world of warcraft, but it tends to be a winter thing. (even though I live in Hawaii it continues to be seasonal).
I'm a member of Pride At Work Hawai'i
P@W Plug >>> Pride At Work Hawai'i advocates for full equality for LGBITQ workers in their workplaces and their unions, and works to build mutual support between Hawai'i's labor movement and LGBITQ community. Pride At Work Hawai'i (an affiliate of the Hawai'i State AFL-CIO) is a chapter of Pride At Work, a constituency group of the AFL-CIO.
I'm a laid back guy who knows how to listen and I try to do the right thing as I see it; yet I have my own mind and will not just follow blindly... or bullshit you just because you'd like me to.
I am grateful for being here, right now and try to appreciate everything that has led to me being who I am.
I am at peace with the world and I let events occur without causing unreasonable resistance as life is a river that will forever flow. I attempt my best to embrace life and am eliminating negative aspects of my persona and continue to grow as a spiritual being.
I believe it important to identify ideas and thoughts which perpetuate the construct of a mindless society and learn to be aware of the impact of these thoughts or ideas.
I am aware.
I am able to learn from observation and through internal exercises, but most important of all. I try.
I continue to grow each day and I attempt to be noble in my efforts for self-improvement.
I have many areas that I suck at. ... this I am aware.
I am starting to get comfortable with being a spiritual person, organized religion from my hometown area has had a impact on my ability to hear the name "God" and not think of the negative aspects of the Church's actions. I do not believe in much of what I have heard preached. There are major flaws that my soul has always known to be very incorrect.
While living each day I can be seen smiling, laughing and enjoying life.
I am able to balance a social 'party' life and be able to talk in about serious issues. I have ideas and can be creative in some really boring ways. When this spreadsheets a rock'n.....
Oh yeah… terrible corny jokes do the trick for me quite often. I’ll admit to laughing at my own stupid jokes more than what I believe to be the standard in social norm-land.
In general I try to keep this in my mind:
THIS is the time to live. right now. all the time. as long as we possibly can for I don’t believe in an afterlife and I’m not going to piss valuable time away doing nothing, being sad and pitiful or being a mean-spirited bitch.
