Christopher Morgan and I are stoked to officially announce Nostrovia Poetry‘s first ever chapbook contest! We're picking three winners for the contest, their publications debuting at the 2015 NYC Poetry Festival. Each winner will have the option of representing themselves & Nostrovia! on stage at the festival. All of Nostrovia!'s projects center around promoting Passionate Living > Making a Living. W/ that in mind, this contest is FREE to enter.

Inspired by Big Lucks's recent BEST PRIZE contest, we're following flash submission conventions--sometime next week we'll announce that the floodgates have opened, giving you 48 hours to submit! Full details available below:

“Walton’s #RuntRaccoonRevolution offers the reader a wealth of impactful and gut punching material from page one to the end. It is simply a collection you wouldn’t want to put down (and would be a crime to do so). Essentially what you hold in your hands or what you’re reading on your screen (depending on your preference for reading) is “kerosene for the soul” and nothing less. If you’re wondering if you should grab this book, I would highly recommend it. Read a few pages at the Scribd link and decide for yourself, I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed”

"#RuntRaccoonRevolution I wrote over the course of a couple months. That was weird for me. I usually wrote my chapbooks by compiling my most recent poems, slapping a title on em, and conceiving them through the printer. It was weird in the way traditional publishing was for the first time. It was weird having someone else fondle them as they exited the womb. #RuntRaccoonRevolution is my griping about childhood's fading, campfire sing alongs dying...

“Jeremiah Walton’s #RuntRaccoonRevolution reads like a travelogue of the soul – a glass Basho shattered into fragments of living.  It begins outside Denver but the geographical locale is not so important as the individual space while travelling for a Walton notes “Who you are is the constant aspects of you no matter the immediate environment.  Travelling allows you to observe yourself and what remains constant among consistently changing circumstances” .  This is a work of both hyper-sensitivity and hyper-vitality but not littered with all the over-sentimentalized trappings one would expect to find.  Jeremiah is aware that “Lions don’t listen to our poems, but let’s read to them anyway” and that “These are my personal songs/any may sing them”.  This is the ego stripped away, life laid bare along the interstate.  #RuntRaccoonRevolution is a scream into the silence.  The passionate blood-drippings of a true bard on the go.  Do yourself a favour and check this guy out!”

All Babies Are Anarchists was picked up by Bottlecap Press, and is available for $5 from their store.  It's also free to read through Scribd, because if I was in this for the money, I probably wouldn't have dedicated my life to #poetry

Ride freight look crazy.  Issue #008 of Fuck Art, Let's Dance has gone live.

This was the last issue accepting unsolicited submissions, containing  a new poetry video from Gatsby's Abandoned Children, poems from John Thomas Menesini, Lucille Gelsomina Falco, Gwil James Thomas, Gaya Khmoyan, Joseph James Cawein, Andrew Nance, & Ally Malinenko.  The Rail Yard Ghosts are the music wielding devils of this cry for something between liberation and apocalypse.  Nothing wrong with kissing with a misanthropic tongue, cause shit, where else?

Story
Tagline
I publish & travel to promote creating for Self in a crumbling culture. I aim to promote the poetic community.
Introduction
I'm Jeremiah Walton.  I write for the youth, hoping to broaden the poetic community, and promote creating for Self.  This culture is decaying to a rapid seizure.  Combating this is important to the future of creative arts.

I blog at Gatsby's Abandoned Children, where most of my poetry collections, including my newest, Smile W/ Sparks (of a shotgun shot), are available free.

Seeking publication?  Shoot W.I.S.H. Publishing, The Traveling Poet, or UndergroundBooks a submission.  We want to hear your literary knives sawing at stereotypes and innovating.

Create more, consume less.  Let's make art.
