Glad I'm not a fish, because that would be the last thing I see.

Пингвин атакует!

“This is what happens when you leave a GoPro out on the sea ice,” writes Gordon Tait, who captured a series of time-lapses with the HD camera system while running an ocean acidification experiment near Casey Station, Antarctica. “We often get groups of Adélie penguins coming to see what we’re doing, and this one was trying to peck the camera.” Photograph by Gordon Tait.

So in January, we were told that the FedVTE online training site would be taken down, and a replacement site would come up in Feb. Then they said by the end of March. Now they say it will be available, "shortly".

So in the Gov't sector, it's perfectly acceptable to remove a production system for months at a time, before standing up a replacement. Logic would suggest that you have the replacement system alpha and beta tested prior to taking down production. But alas, logic doesn't exist in Gov't. <sigh> 21 weeks left.
FedVTE is currently undergoing extensive changes which will ensure long-term access to free cybersecurity training for the Federal IT workforce.

Could have been much worse. Dishwasher stopped working this morning. A quick troubleshoot with a multi-meter showed power was not getting to the junction box under the machine. Found that the sheet metal hole that is made for the power cord to come through was rubbing and wore through the common wire. If it would have been the hot wire, we could have had sparks and/or a fire. I'm thanking Heavenly Father for keeping my home and family safe.

A serious blessing! Glad it was an easily identifiable problem too

I've never realized I needed an umbrella until now.
You wouldn’t face your deadliest nemesis armed with a plastic spoon, so why face the rain gods brandishing a weedy umbrella? Make like a noble warrior and pull out this quality brolly that boasts a samurai sword-style handle. Hi-yaaa!

Back in January I posted about issues I've had with the Baofeng handheld resetting channel 0 to default. Well even with the fix on Miklor, it happened again. I'll try my other handheld in the truck and see if happens again. If so, I think it's safe to assume it's the cigarette lighter power pack I'm using.

I had one for a while, just to play with.  I found many irritating things about them, dual vfo being one of them.

I'd appreciate it if you all would stop sneezing at me. +Steve Barnes, this video explains why the "Mumford and Sons sucks" post (https://plus.google.com/u/0/114529165892021058067/posts/a3AX6gU3WqJ) won't die. And yes, they do suck.

Fascinating. Now, excuse me while I blow my brain to clear away the thought-snot.

Please don't read this article, I need job security.
Every day, you hear about security flaws, viruses, and evil hacker gangs that could leave you destitute -- or, worse, bring your country to its knees. But what's the truth about these digital dangers? We asked computer security experts to separate the myths from the facts. Here's what they said.

This is a very clean range (it better be, it's new!), with friendly staff. We went on a busy Saturday, but was able to get right on the line shooting. They sell target stands there, for a decent price, but if you have a 1x4 and cardboard laying around your house, you can throw one together simply enough. They also sell targets there if you run out or forgot to bring some.
