I got inspired so I thought of selecting my Top 12 photos of 2016. Some of them I selected because I liked the photo and others the experience in taking them but for all of them them it is a way to remember some of the places I have visited but mostly the people I have meet.
My twelfth photo of the year is of a Great Egret that I took in along the Kinabatangan River, Borneo. The bird stood on the tree log and fishing for lunch as I took the photo on its way up from the water.
I want to send a major thank you to all of the photographers that have inspired me during this year. This is just a short list: Nick Brandt, Mattias Klum, Jan Pedersen, Björn Persson, Steve Winter, Brutus Östling, Tom Hugh-Jones, Sebastian Kennerknecht, Gerry van der Walt, Marlon du Toit, Morkel Erasmus, David duChemin, Luke Hunter and Staffan Widstrand.

My eleventh photo, from Tingvellir, Iceland, goes to my Panthera family even if they are all Big Cats. I have met so many great people through them and they are too many to mentions but I will at least add a few like Darla, Jigmet, Rodney, Tanya, Andrew, Karen, Manuela, Christine, Urs, Douglas, Karma, and Vivek.

My tenth photo is of a File-eared Tree Frog in Borneo. I spent a lot of time photographing when it was dark. I used a torch and a flash mounted on the camera.
I want to thank Scandinavian Photo Malmö and the knowledgeable staff Anders, Martin, Nicklas and the others that both sponsored my trips and gave me the opportunity to have talks about my beloved big cats and other wildlife.

Photo number nine is of a Monitor lizard on Selingan Island, Borneo. If you look carefully you can see ticks on the side of the body. They are the same type that bite and suck blood from humans and that is how diseases travels between animals and people.
I want to sincerely thank the Swedish workshop group that I lead. Bengt-Åke, Berit, Fredrik, Kjell, Kerstin, Rolf, Sara, Siv, Sören and Tom taught me a lot about myself and how I should be a better teacher. I want to view more of your photos during 2017. I also want to deeply thank +Cede Prudente and +Wong Siew Te for showing me the country and wildlife.

Photo number eight is from the tropical mountain forest of Mount Kinabalu, Borneo. Most people don´t know but it is quite dark down below the massive tree canopy close to the ground where I found one of the 1,000 species of orchids there.
I want to thank The Arcanum, www.thearcanum.com, and +Glenn Guy´s cohort, Voyage Of Discovery, with people like +garrick bernstein, +Sameer P, +Vesa Loikas, +Marcel Schneider and +Ted Manasa that have coached, encouraged and inspired me to become a better and more proficient photographer.

Next photo is from my weekend trip to Iceland or rather weekend plus one day as I missed the flight home again. I somehow got lost on the smaller roads by the sea shore on my way to the Reykjavik Airport. This lovely Icelandic horse compensated the mishap a bit.
I want to thank Sogeti Sweden for letting me work there as a Test Manager and allowing me to take vacations for my travels. (Yes, I am off again soon)

Photo number six of the vocalizing Pig-tailed Macaque is taken Sabah, Borneo during a breathtaking boat trip on the Kinabatangan River. We saw the magnificent landscape with all of the animals and bird and we knew that not far away people and companies were burning the forest to make way for palm oil plantations to be used in everyday products like soap, shampoo, snacks and a lot of other household products.
I want to thank TagAlong.se and the incredible friends Andreas, Cheri and Göran for having me as a travel guide and photo workshop leader to Borneo and I hope there will be plenty more the coming years.
