Have you ever wondered about the differences between #googleauthorship and publisher? Well, I've tried to analogise for you and, thanks to , have got it represented in an #infographic ..
My take on Authorship and Publisher is that Authorship is for unique content written by us human beings whereas publisher is the preserve of the collective, or entity, that houses the authors.
One analogy for this is a magazine. A magazine can have articles from lots of authors and so each article would have Authorship associated with it. All of these authors articles are collectively published though by the magazine and as such the magazine has publisher markup in place.

Whilst there are a few differences between Authorship & Publisher they have a lot of similar advantages such as increased click through rate, more visibility, more trust and can reduce the chances of plagiarism.
In the full post I give shoutouts to for his stellar guide on how to set up Authorship, for his infographic checklist on how to find out why Authorship isn't working and for being the definitive source of all things Authorship.

Do you have any analogies of your own you'd like to share? Or, any questions about Authorship/Publisher? If so, please ask and hope you like and share the graphic!

The top questions for Google's very own help community - thought this might be useful to people!
Let’s talk about Gmail notices, Circles, and Photo AutoBackUp!
Hey everyone! Time for the latest Google+ Help Weekly Round-Up where the top trending questions of the week are answered!
1) asked about Gmail notices
How do you stop Google+ from sending notices to my Gmail account.
and responded with the following explanation:
From John Elstone: Go to plus.google.com/settings and uncheck the email options under each of the Receive notifications heading
From Rupert Wood: Or alternatively set up a filter in gmail to archive the notifications to skip the inbox. They can be quite handy if you need to search for something, such as when a person added you to their circles, previous comments and interactions etc., think I've got over 30k of notifications in my mail and it only uses a tiny amount of my google storage.

2) Tom Thomas asked about Circles:
How is a notification enabled/disabled for an individual circle?
Zachary Fair shared the following advice:
From your home stream (plus.google.com), click the circle up top that you're receiving notifications from. It might be listed under More. Look for the bell in the In this circle card.

3) +AliReinhart asked about AutoBackup for Photos:
When I delete the pictures off my phone/tablet, they also delete from Google+. Is that just how the auto backup works, or is there a setting I can change so that deleted photos remain backed up to google.
Deleting photos from your mobile device doesn't remove them from Google+. If you use the Photos app, photos on the Camera tab are your photos and images that are on your device. Once they have been backed up to Google+, a filled-in cloud symbol with a checkmark will show in the lower-right corner of the thumbnail. If you delete a photo from your device's gallery, it will no longer show in the Camera tab of the Google+ Photos app.
The Highlights tab are highlights of your uploaded photos, and you can tap the arrow at the end of a set to view other photos from that set. If you don't see all of your photos there, tap search (magnifying glass) and enter #autobackup to see all of your backed up photos.
ALSO from Kamal Tailor If they don't have the solid cloud with the checkmark in it, then yes it wouldn't have backed up.
The camera tab in your phone doesn't have the cloud with the check mark, then you need to make sure Autobackup and sync is on
