How do you think the Earth actually will end?

A few billion years from now the sun will begin to run out of hydrogen fuel. In the absence of the steady outward pressure of light and heat, the outer layers will press in on the core, increasing the temperature and pressure until the layer of hydrogen around the helium core begins to burn. The light and heat from that layer of hydrogen will inflate the sun hundreds of times its original size - eventually engulfing the earth.

An ion beam, striking out from the collapse of a supernova - at the center of the galaxy, pointed at the earth, would vaporize the entire facing top 500 feet of soil and ocean in seconds. We'd never know what hit us. There are powers out there in the "void" that are so far beyond our understanding that we cannot begin to fathom some of the destruction they could dish out.
