There may be more than one way to do it right, but here are 7 ways to do it wrong...  #jobsearch

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/7-universal-job-search-truths-jennifer-scott
There is an awful lot of advice out there about how to write a perfect resume or give the ultimate answer (42??) to the ultimate interview question. Some of it is even pretty good. But, the truth is there is more than one way to do it right. Recruiting, interviewing and selection are subjective. It’s very likely that if you ask 10 recruiters for feedback on your resume, you will get 10 different opinions. It’s just as likely that if you ask 10 rec...

Good question by +Paul Hebert today... Are we guiding behaviors to achieve our goal? #SMB  #Leadership #positiveleadership
I heard that phrase many, many years ago as I was learning the ropes in the incentive world. During training on how to develop an effective incentive program the point was made that the audience needs to have the capability to do the behavior you're trying to influence.

I started my business to support working parents. Why? Because the pressures on working parents today are exponential. Everything from the societal pressures of "keeping up with the Joneses", financial pressures, raising children who may be more challenging than a generation ago, the pressure to be "on" all the time, school choice and involvement in a not so great environment, and much, much more. Here are some startling statistics: 88% of working...

The candidate-driven job market has returned. Great post, Jim!
We can officially call it. The Candidate Market has returned. Wage growth is coming, and a new cycle in hiring is in effect. We need to adapt, and we need to adapt quickly. In 1999, I was in LA selling CS graduates on the benefits of joining dotcom companies. "They have Dual T-1 Lines with the OC3 upgrade, and they're paying $60K to start." Not a bad line, and for companies hungry for this new "Java" language, two courses and a degree was all it t...

Things to think about for both recruiters and job seekers... Optimization of the profile and more strategic use of Inmail are just at the tip of the iceberg.

Contemplating all sides of the fence... #recruiting   #SMB
What exactly is truth in recruiting? It's a phrase I have heard no less than 6 times in the last two weeks. And, I've heard it from both recruiters and candidates. Recruiters want candidates to be honest with them about their skills and backgrounds. Frankly, I think this is obvious, ...

!! "Recruiters will still be needed as will more sophisticated employment marketers that don’t just ‘dabble’ in employer branding and social recruiting, but truly understand the marketing life-cycle and components to “just in time” HR/Recruitment marketing:  finding the right candidates, at the right time, in the right role for both the company… and the candidate..." an idea whose time has come... +Kyle Lagunas +Crystal Miller Thanks for the stats and info!   #recruiting   #talentacquisition
The answer to that question probably depends on who you ask. For Social Recruiting Strategies Conference Speaker and President of The Sourcing Institute, Shally Steckerl, the answer is a resounding “Yes, recruiting is broken” and what we know as sourcing needs an overhaul.

We enrolled our then 7 year old in lessons at Tiger Rock almost exactly one year ago. Over this year he has become significantly more confident, more cooperative, and more respectful. He works hard on the mat, and is able to translate the tenets they learn in class to his everyday life outside of the academy. Any program that can teach physical agility, self defense AND traits like perseverance, self control, integrity, and respect to a VERY independent 2nd grader is a 10 in our book! And, I don't think anyone could have done it better than the amazing staff at Tiger Rock of Frisco! We look forward to our son's journey to black belt and beyond with this team!

Incredible. Steven Heath did an absolutely fantastic job on refurbishing / repairing / refinishing two antique pieces for us. The dresser has to be at least 70 years old, and the bar cart, likely over 100 years... I'll let the photos speak for themselves. I highly recommend Heath Refinishing!
