And then....life happens. #Gratitude
Been a while since I posted.  To sum up 2015 so far:  new job which is decidedly the opposite of boring and un-engaging [yay!!] family stuff two robberies in 48 hours [committed by neighbors in our literal back-yard] recov...

Where I set my intentions for 2015.
Have to say, 2015 is starting out fairly well. At least to this point. It is, after all, *only* January 12.  In short, there's still time for everything to get completely bolloxed. BUT let's focus on the positive, shall we?...

Well, hi there, folks! Remember me? #TheBourgeoisHomesteader
Well, hi there. Remember me? #Oops I'd say I was busy, but my Best Workout Bud detests that word (and I agree - we overuse it). Let's just go with it wasn't you, it was me. I needed some space. And move on.  Holidays were...

Crustless Pumpkin Pie. Autumn in a pan, basically.
If you follow my Instagram feed (or my personal Facebook page), then you may have already seen and/or requested the recipe for the Crustless Pumpkin Pie I made last week for our office Hallowe'en Party. If not, well, prepare ...

Guess I should be glad that our frig doesn't have this feature. Spouse would fill it with peanut butter cup minis. And we'd both weigh 500 pounds.
Frozen sweets are better treats. Just ask Redditor dericpeace, who knocked the Internet out cold with a stroke of genius this week when he decided to fill his ice machine with lots and lots of candy. He turned off the ice-making function, wait...

Laura, sounds yummy...... :)
A wonderful cake for fall, this Pumpkin Spice Buttermilk Bundt Cake is light, and brimming with autumnal flavors. Only made more irresistible with Salted Dark Caramel Glaze and topped with mini chocolate chips, cinnamon chips and English toffee bits.Though this cake is gluten free it was adapted from a gluten cake. For those preferring to use gluten all-purpose flour merely substitute it for the full flour amount (2 1/4 cups) or for the gluten-fr...

2015 is off to a pretty good start! {knocks on wood}

Oh hai, 2015! How did 2014 goals end up?
Well, hi there. Remember me? #Oops I'd say I was busy, but my Best Workout Bud detests that word (and I agree - we overuse it). Let's just go with it wasn't you, it was me. I needed some space. And move on.  Holidays were groovy - too damn fast. New Year's ...

The one where I introduce my new fur-niece and give the recipe for Apple Graham Crumble. #Yum #TheBourgeoisHomesteader
Autumn. I just love you. Leaves of all colors, crisp air, the return of gourds in all manner of colors, shapes and textures. <sigh> This past weekend, I made three very Autumn inspired dishes to share with friends, and I'm ...

Introduction
I am a middle-aged, suburban, office-dweller who enjoys cooking, spending time with My Spouse, family and friends, love all sorts of music, attending concerts and laughing. I think I'm really hilarious. Have my own lexicon.
Bragging rights
I make my own yogurt & deodorant. Snort when I laugh really hard. Am fun-sized. No one believes me when I say I'm shy.
Always relaxing, Heather has a great touch and a vast expanse of knowledge to help with any problem/problem areas. I enjoy coming for the service itself (she uses Eminence products) but also for the ambience and overall feeling of relaxation I have when I leave. My skin feels and looks fantastic.
