Planning a trip to #Branson , #Missouri ? Don't miss these exciting outdoor adventures! #travel   #BransonMO   #familyfriendly   #travelwithcurves
[This guest post was submitted by April from The Cabins at Grand Mountain  in Branson, MO. While I've never been to Branson myself, I've heard it compared to Pigeon Forge, TN, which I've written about in previous posts. It sounds like an affordable, exciting getaway for all ages! - Jen ]   3 Adventurous Ways to Experience Branson Considered one of America’s most family-friendly destinations – and hailed as the “Live Entertainment ...

This past week, I had the pleasure of conversing with the lovely Lauren from  Wander Plus. Her inspiring Instagram account is dedicated to sharing photos and experiences of plus-size travelers from all over the world. This girl is amazing, and any introduction I try to write will fall short of her own words. So, without further ado, here’s her wonderful interview:

My review of +Barry House B&B in London. I absolutely adored this place! If you're looking for a historic budget B&B, you can't go wrong with this family-owned hotel.  #travel   #london   #plussize   #plussizetravel   #travelblog   #travelblogger
When planning a trip to London for three people (my brother, my husband Ty, and me), it was important to find a budget-friendly accommodation with a great location. A family room that could accommodate three adults and a full English breakfast were also at the top of my must-have list. This meant scouring the internet for weeks researching budget B&Bs and comparing reviews to see which one would be the best value. The first thing I d...

Hippies, wind, and failed photos. Just your average tourist experience at Stonehenge! :)
This is the final post in my blog series about our tour to Bath, Stonehenge, and a Secret Place. To get caught up, read Part 1 and Part 2. It was hard to leave Bath and its stunning Georgian architecture behind, but our tour group had places to go and big rocks to see. Yep, that’s right, our final stop was Stonehenge!   Lucky for us, the rain that had dampened our entry into Bath had let up completely by the time we found ourselves ...

Planning a trip to #London ? I highly recommend booking a tour with +The English Bus! Read about our experience with this small family-owned company in Part 1 of my blog series about our day in the English countryside.
Now that I’m back home and (mostly) recovered from the trip, I’ll start blogging in more detail about our experiences in England. If you read my last post that summarized our week in London, you’ll know that we were headed on a tour to Bath and Stonehenge, so that’s where this post will pick up! When I was planning our trip, I researched for several weeks and mulled over every little detail before making any decision (I guess I’m a t...

When #travel  plans go awry.
#plussizetravel
My last blog post in April announced our highly anticipated trip to the Riviera Maya. While I had planned on blogging while there to detail our trip (and I even wrote the first draft of a post from Mexico), things didn’t quite go as expected. Unfortunately, the hubby and I got deathly ill shortly after we arrived. Okay, maybe not deathly ill, but it sure seemed like it.

The art of day tripping. #daytrip   #daytripping   #upick   #farm   #happyberryfarm   #figs   #travel
Although I like to be organized and plan ahead for major things like  our trip to England, I’m all about spur-of-the-moment day trips. Living in Asheville, North Carolina offers some major perks as far as having plenty of do within a couple hours’ drive. Whenever we get a hankerin’ for a change of scenery, Ty and I will usually head toward Cherokee or Pigeon Forge. Those tend to be our go-to day trips during the fall and spring month...

New blog post about one of my biggest insecurities: being photographed. Why I'm working on getting over the mindset that I'm too #fat  to be in front of the camera. #plussize   #plussizetravel   #travel   #psblogger   #plussizeblog   #travelblog   #travelblogger   #bodypositive   #travelwithcurves
For all my talk about body positivity, I’m going to admit something to you: I hate having my picture taken. I’m not talking about those selfies you’ve mastered where you know how to take advantage of your face’s good angles, turning just the right way to get the most flattering shot in the best lighting. I’m talking about having other people take my picture.

So excited to have Travel with Curves' first guest contributor +Selena Marinello! Check out her tips and tricks for traveling with #PCOS , and be sure to visit her site for some awesome travel photography!  #pcosawareness   #plussizetravel     #plussize   #polycysticovarysyndrome   #travel   #travelphotography
[ This guest post was submitted by the lovely Selena Marinello, a talented photographer and world traveler who, like me, suffers from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. PCOS and its tendency to slash your self-esteem with symptoms like excessive weight gain and hirsutism can hold you back from experiencing life to its fullest. But cysters like Selena have found ways to manage these symptoms and insecurities, even while living a nomadic lifest...

Part 2 of my blog series about our day in the English countryside!

#travel   #wanderlust   #plussizetravel   #England   #Bath   #BathUK   #RomanBaths   #theenglishbus
This post is Part 2 of our group tour in the English countryside. Be sure to read Part 1 here. We pulled up to The Royal Crescent in Bath just as the wind and rain began to pick up. This impressive crescent of terraced houses was built in the late 1700s and is still considered one of the most exclusive residential areas in England. Our tour guide Chris would later tell us the story of resident Miss Amabel Wellesley-Colley who upset t...

A quick recap of our trip to London! #travel   #london   #plussizetravel
There’s one thing I didn’t anticipate when coming up with the ambitious idea that I would update this blog daily during our London trip: how exhausting sightseeing can be! London is an incredibly easy city to navigate with the well-planned Tube lines – so much so that I wish I lived and worked here just for the convenience – but I can’t even imagine how many miles we’ve walked since our arrival. Those trusty Skechers I raved about in...

Story
Tagline
I play with the English language.
Introduction
I'm an INFP. The Idealist.
This means I'm reserved, intuitive, laid-back, considerate, and I care way too much about what people think of me for my own good. I'd also like to think I'm witty and charming, but my humor gets misinterpreted quite a bit, so let's throw awkward  in there too.

I write.
Mostly web content for marketing purposes, which is a far cry from what my BA in Creative Writing prepared me for (and yes, I ended that in a preposition - if it's good enough for Grammar Girl it's good enough for me). I'm also pursuing my master's degree in English & Creative Writing.

I'm Southern.
So pardon me for not typing all proper-like for you'ns 100% of the time. I prefer to spell out my sweet Southern dialect in these more casual settings. I mean c'mon, I ain't exactly writin' a book here!

I like Jersey cows. And...
Blue hydrangeas. Watching the backsides of leaves as they turn up before rain comes. Lemongrass soap and lavender bubble baths. Peppermint lip gloss. Wearing flips flops in chilly weather. When I'm up early enough to see fog settling around the crest of the mountains. Being a Southern idealistic writer who may one day actually finish writing her novel, if she wasn't so laid-back to the point of putting things off 'til tomorra !
Bragging rights
I keep odd hours and work in my pajamas.
