Designer & Fine Artist. Owner of Jennifer! Designs®, a Stationery & Surface Design Company. Creator/Designer of StationTEEN, an online, whimsical stationery company that empowers teen girls to develop deeper relationships with family and friends.Jennifer Broderick began drawing during her Lexington, Ohio childhood. Drawing was her way to heal from traumas she experienced before age 14. During her recovery, she developed a passion for drawing in pen and ink. At the age of 12, her father, an engineer, gave her first technical pen. He stressed the importance of technique and discipline, yet encouraged creativity and individuality. Jennifer creates order out of chaos, obsessing over line variation and resolution. She named her abstract creations “Spontaneous Evolutions”, as she doesn’t plan the outcome of any of her drawings. Each piece takes on a life of its own as she gets lost creating the highly detailed lines, swirls, circles and abstract shapes that at times evoke the works of Wassily Kandinsky, yet are clearly a style all her own. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Columbus College of Art & Design where she studied Advertising Design and Fine Arts. She believes that her design education has had a strong influence on her fine art work. “I believe that good design is the foundation of all art. I consider myself a designer as much as I do a fine artist. The difference between the two is purpose.” Jennifer also works as a stationery and surface designer but gets most of her enjoyment creating pen and ink drawings. “It is my intention that the viewer is taken in by the details and interprets each piece in their own way. I want to establish the strongest emotional bond between me and my audience”. Jennifer’s passion comes from within. “Making art is as important to me as breathing. It pulled me out of a dark place during my childhood and led me into a world of hope, happiness and opportunities. I want my art to convey the feeling of an unquiet mind that became restful, focused and undisturbed. “Jennifer Broderick’s art are messages of triumph.”~ Katherine Kotaw
