". . . a lot of feminists on the internet" is quite the fallacious phrase for someone who claims to identify with logic and rationalization. What demographic of feminists are you referring to? It has been my experience, as both a woman and a feminist, that those of us who are most serious about the feminist agenda do not need to publicly identify in such a way that (i.e. gathering on websites, making it part of our handles, or publicly assaulting people who oppose our views) draws attention to us, so much as make tiny changes in hopes that we can affect the opinions of those who are bold enough to make a difference.
Those of us who are activists are mostly humanists or are more likely championing an equality between the species.. because it is kindness and equality between the species that is a true evolution of the human mind and that is where change occurs.
In response to your own experience with harassment, you should have spoke up and you should have pursued justice. This is something that modern feminism is supposed to be championing. This is just exactly the equality of the sexes that is required to eliminated the anxieties and hostilities that exist and continue to harm society.
I'm not going to tell you that it would have changed anything. I know in every company there is a division of power that you must hurdle to find the person who will make changes. Most companies just want harassment suits to go away. However, that woman shouldn't have gotten away with that. That is unacceptable. If your company ignored you, that's something you could have gone to the press with. If you think you have a following now, imagine what your following would be like after something like that. ;)
