Has this ever happened to you?

A recent nightmare situation caused me to end a long term relationship with my hosting service.

Like many break ups, better communication and an earlier response time may have saved us.

But they chose to go old school.

Long wait times, calls to an ever rotating support team,  the failure to solve a problem they know about.

Long story short, my site was hacked.

It happened either three times in a month or they didn’t clean it up the first time…who knows. What I do know is I’ve lost hours on the phone trying to resolve the issue of the malware and an apparent related issue of email undeliverabilty.

Hundreds of dollars and three trusted tech sources later and my site is back up and moved to a new host.

 A Fictional Case Study

Great insights on the various social media platforms - written by a teenager.

And not based on studies or metrics derived from "Big Data" Analytics

Do you want to know your prospect’s burning questions? Of course you do.

That way you can show up in more helpful ways for them. Do this enough and you’ll become a respected and trusted advisor. Do you think that position will help you gain more referrals and make more sales over time?

I hope you said, “yes”.

Is your site mobile friendly? If not, you'll want to read this! Great points +Paula Gregorowicz !

There's a lot of hub bub (and hype) around the Google Announcement to penalize #websites  starting  April 21 if they are not mobile friendly. Here's what you need to know as a #smallbusiness owner.

You should be active on Facebook and Twitter/LinkedIn/Pinterest and don’t forget Instagram/Slideshare and blogging and video for YouTube/Vine and now native for Twitter and Facebook!

Whew…no wonder you feel overwhelmed!

Feeling they should be “everywhere” and not knowing what to post in the first place are two of the biggest concerns many of my clients have.

Let’s put the biggest social media myths to rest.

Back in 2007 when Facebook (FB) first started gaining traction with the mainstream America, there were “Fan” pages. Most users interacted using their personal profiles without any thought of business.

However, as users (and FB) matured, more businesses realized they needed to use the largest social media platform to connect with their customers.
Fan Pages became Business Pages. Businesses started tracking how many people saw and engaged with their posts. Advertising became possible and Eureka! Facebook discovered their cash cow.

Facebook Business Pages Then Vs. Now
Initially, if people “liked” your page, your posts would show up in their feeds. Next, if they interacted with your posts, they’d see more of your posts. (That’s a simplification of the algorithm).

Facebook is a powerhouse of users, but if your audience never sees your posts, what's the point? Here's what you can expect from the giant for SMB.

Forget everything you know about SEO for a moment. Think about your customers instead. Who are they? What questions do they have? What problems do you solve?

Review your buyer personas and ask yourself how you can make their lives easier.

Review your existing content assets and determine where they fall within the buying cycle and, if they answer the questions your prospects have.

You could make a simple grid to help you keep track. Like this one.

Targeted traffic is the lifeblood of a successful website. Great content attracts and qualifies leads so you shorten the sales cycle. Where are your gaps?

Dr. Jeff has rid my back/shoulder of chronic pain that's bothered me for 15 years. When I first started seeing him, the pain was radiating down my arm into my hand and making it painful to type. Now, I think he's a miracle worker! Plus, the staff is always pleasant and I'm in and out quickly. Thanks!
